Doctors have to start the treatment without the complete information of patient’s medical history, which sometimes, is life threatening for the patient. Technologies could be used in healthcare sector to provide better healthcare facilities and reduce the operations costs. In our country we see that there is scarcity of doctors, nurses and pharmacy. But still there is rapid growth in healthcare services, while diseases are becoming more complex. More and more new and efficient diagnostic techniques and new way of treatments are being developed and used in healthcare sector so as to provide the patients with best possible treatment and in their budget. Many healthcare organizations are providing different kind of services to cater to highly diversified economic population which in turn has resulted in competition in the market. So the organizations which do not perform well are out of business. [3][4] As healthcare providers need cost effective automating processes which gives more profits, cloud computing will provide perfect platform in the healthcare information technology space. Many hospitals may share infrastructure with large number of systems linked together. By this pooling the hospitals automatically reduce the cost and increase utilization. The resources are delivered only when they are required. This also means realtime availability of patient information for doctors, nursing staff and
In today’s cyber environment everything is that the tip of society’s fingertip and healthcare is not the exception. Every organization from hospitals to the local family doctor’s office is realizing the cost savings and convenience of having a medical system in place that can store, track, audit, and maintain a patient’s history. Such technology is mutually beneficial to patients alike since searching for providers becomes much easier when login into a medical portal allows the user to find specialist of all sorts without much hassle.
Healthcare information technology forms a pivotal part of today 's healthcare system. Improved quality of healthcare, patient safety, drastic reduction in medical errors and enhancement of care delivery is possible because of the induction of these solutions in the healthcare delivery environment. Today, healthcare IT solutions are enabling processes like planning, decision-making related to organizational development, strategic planning to drive growth, recruitment of competent personnel, managing employee benefits, payroll, intra-department communication, etc.
However, health informatics is the kind of application system normally used by most hospitals and clinics to deliver high quality and cost efficient healthcare service to the community. According to Bacon County Hospital press release (2002), the informatics system was implemented to make the delivery of medical services such as surgical treatment and other general treatment faster. In this paper, therefore we look into how the informatics systems/applications has evolved since it was implemented by the Bacon County Hospital; discuss the future trends for healthcare informatics and how these trends impact the healthcare delivery system.
The Cloud is one of the best options for small businesses in Healthcare. With the right set-up, you may pass-through all of your local connections, including x-ray machines, directly through to the cloud in a protected HIPAA compliant fashion. This gives you incredible flexibility and is a completely hands-off approach in compliance with all materials that are in the cloud. ClearData, a leader in security and cloud technologies should provide you with a server to store all data, virtual desktops for each of the employees, and handle all security-related tasks for the cloud environment (SIEM, Log Analysis, Security Events, Management, Vulnerabilities, Anti-Virus, and patching). The Cloud quote contains two sets of services, a server and virtual desktop environments for each of the employees. The server and desktops
The cloud computing and mobile device usage is still under construction in health care industry but slowly becoming groundbreaking in other fields.
The rising costs of healthcare have increased the need for centralized and secure data for organizations to proactively control costs and to continue to improve the quality of care for patients. Many healthcare organizations have been working towards tackling and complying with this issue but have a variety of complex situations due to limited resources (both technology and financial), geographic limitations, and even political issues from organizational setups. Healthcare has become a competitive market as well which makes the limitations become more prevalent to those who can’t keep up.
The other technology applied in the healthcare sector is that of applying the connected medical devices. These devices have been applied in making sure that patient information is picked up and automatically transmitted to other connected computers for analysis and easy treatment (Desourdis, 2009). The devices usually allow the patients to see how they are fairing in real-time as well as giving them an opportunity to monitor their own lives on real-time basis. The other important technology that is important in the merged healthcare system is the of installing electronic health record systems that are hosted on physical servers with few healthcare entities by applying cloud-based systems to make sure that data security in the
A legacy system is an important topic to address because of its magnitude within a health care organization. A legacy system can be a health care organization information system, nurse scheduling system, purchasing and inventory control system, admission-discharge-transfer systems, and facility planning system ( ). Any EHR system considered by a health care organization has to take into consideration the compatibility with the legacy systems already used within the facility. One of the most popular EHR platforms is the cloud-hosting services because installation is minimal and the cost is based on the number of embedded applications needed. In the article, " " by talks about how middleware has the opportunity to connect and gather data from different EHR systems once
Health IT goal is to improve the quality of care through information systems. On the other hand, HII intends to achieve this objective by formulating information in accessible way and providing a platform to create a practically and accurate medical history for patients’ which that helps of better diagnose and treat patients. HII goal is to have patient’s permission, then let health care providers access the patient’s EHR, for the purpose of individual treatment and health management. EHR is one of the biggest software interface and database that has the ability to share patients PHI and save time, lives and money .By sharing PHI, health care providers can provide fast and efficient services for patient who has medical history so they will
Healthcare service reliability and availability is a matter of life and death, and statistics show few researchers have studied the impact of cloud computing
For hospital application, it can manage patient and clinical information from hospital system, provide a single, native patient record for download, charts and making notes, can easily access with your phone, computer, it is not only save time, but also improve the decision making with low cost and low risk. For the pharmacy application, its would be the easy way for doctor and patient to make conversation, it can easily and fast access into the patient history, and give the simple, accurate, reliable dispending. For the aged care application, which can connect with care worker in the cloud space, it helps improve the workplace productivity by using technology way, whenever where are you, you still can work for the hospital, and easily connected by doctor and staff in hospital. For the general practice application, which provides the good healthy service to far away patient, the tool gives health care to the remote and regional to patient (Riley,
Although, available to the patient free of charge for learning about health and medical problem to consult for clinical service require an operations infrastructure of networks for management and accountability of healthcare information technology (HIT). As stated in the beginning HIT is the relationship of telemedicine and practicing medicine for cost management that enable efficient and effective care for

The scope of this paper is to bring about digitization in healthcare, where each individual’s health records are uploaded to the cloud and are accessed by a smart health card.
Health information is a fundamental piece of data which represents a person, business, organization, or a community. This data is vital in monitoring and coordination of care for individuals and communities. It not only monitors and coordinates patient care, but reduces costly mistakes and prevent duplication of treatments as well as taking a pivotal role in preserving, securing, and protecting personal health information. Since, this information is extremely essential and sensitive, it must remain secure and safe to prevent frauds and cyber-attacks. First of all, this paper discusses vitality of the health information in regards to individuals, professionals, and organizations along with its benefits to improve overall quality of life. Secondly, it discusses the role of information technology in various aspects of the industry and the what the future holds within IT.
