On April 13 at approximately 10:00pm Rupert and Rupina Clodhopper returned home to find their back patio door had been broken into. The police questioned them about the $10,000 in jewelry the kept in a wall safe. They said only six of their employees, Mike, Bob, Chris, Mary, Susan, and Jessica, knew about it. The police evidence technician team found broken glass and a glove with blood on it. The glass was from the glass window pane of the patio door. Each employee was then asked about their whereabouts during the time of the robbery and to give blood samples. The purpose of this lab is to find out who broke into the Clodhoppers home by testing the blood samples from the employees and the glove. Analysis: The evidence was collected by a …show more content…
We know this because we were tested for the blood type of the blood from the glove, it turned out it was type AB. We also tested all of the employee's blood and Chris was the only one with Type AB blood. Only .6% of people have AB- blood and only 3.4% of people have AB+ blood, so the likeliness of an unknown suspect breaking into the house with AB blood are pretty slim (“Your AB- Blood is Important”). Finding out Chris is the only employee with type AB blood is the most compelling piece of evidence. Another process that can find out who the blood belonged would be a blood DNA test (“Use of DNA in Criminal Investigations”). The right side of the glass patio door was broken into and Chris right handed. He also said he lost his gloves when the investigators questioned him. Although, the piece of evidence is not so compelling because all of the employees said they lost their gloves. Chris said he was home watching t.v during the time of the robbery. Though that piece is irrelevant because all of the employees said they were watching t.v during the time of the robbery. In conclusion, Chris robbed the Clodhoppers and our conclusion is irrefutable being he is the only employee with type AB blood, mean he is the only one who could have broken into the the home and left his bloody
The bus driver that identified Joshua and Martha, identified Erika and Benjamin as the couple they were talking to on the way to Seacret’s Club. Investigators took a closer look in at bathroom in the Sifrit’s Condominuim and noticed an orange color in the grout of the tile and orange running down the shower stale which appeared to be blood. Pulled out the sink stopper and found hair, blood and flesh. Also, underneath the stink they discovered a bullet hole that went through the wall into the adjacent bedroom. A closer look at the two spent bullets reveled they one of them had bits of drywall on it and the other had what appeared to be blood in the twisted groves. Forensic discovered on window in the bathroom showed a partial palm print. Forensic team took the evidence back to the labs to
We are here to present our evidence for The Case of the Murdered Mayor. We think that Matthew Maloy killed Mr. Robert Burlington. We looked at 5 things including blood type, hair analysis, fingerprints, tire impressions, and entomological evidence. We got 4 pieces of blood-covered evidence. The victim's blood, the victim's car, the cabin Robert was killed in, and the tire iron that killed Robert. All four of the pieces had B+ blood on them. The only suspects with B+ blood are Timothy Taylor and Matthew Maloy. Chris Cunningham had A-, Pam Preston had AB-, Timothy Taylor has B+, Vic Velto has AB+, Nicole Burlington has A-.
Common sense suggests that if there is a right handprint on the wall, the shooter pulled the trigger with his left hand. Since C is left-handed, that means that they pulled the trigger. The final piece of evidence that points to C as the murderer is his silverware was on the left side of his platter. His coffee cup was also on the left side of his plate. Usually, if the silverware and cups are placed on the left hand side of the plate, it means that the diner is left handed. So this means that C is left-handed.WHO COMMITED THE LUNCHROOM MURDER?
The blood looked like it was coming out of Ms. Garcia's head and there was a table lying by her head as well. There were some pills and a syringe lying by Ms. Garcia´s stomach area. Additionally, there were tennis shoes with footprints on them and some white powder was found at the crime scene as well. The team then analyzed all of the evidence to figure out Ms.Garcia's manner and cause of death. The analysis of each evidence took the team one step closer to finding out how exactly Ms. Garcia
Mrs. Van Bliven stole her own necklace because she wanted the insurance money. The first piece of evidence is the glass on the balcony door was broken from the inside. This piece of evidence is important because it eliminates one suspect, Honore´ Schmidt. In order for him to be a suspect the broken glass would had to have been on the inside of the door. Since the window was broken from the inside, Mrs. Van Bliven must have broken it herself- therefore trying to frame someone else. The next piece of evidence is that Mrs. Van Bliven claimed that she locked the door and did not hear the phone ring. This fact is crucial to the investigation because it proves that Mrs. Van Bliven is lying about what she said. If the door was locked and the glass
A fingerprint was discovered on a spilled orange juice glass. Using fingerprint analysis, the fingerprint was found to belong the Alex Garcia. This piece of evidence places Alex at the scene.
After securing the outside perimeter, Crime Scene Investigators meticulously searched inside the dwelling; taking videos, photographs, and collecting over 1,000 fingerprints. The bedrooms had been ransacked but very few items of value had been taken. In fact, other items of value were left untouched such as cash (which was left in the open) and a safe, leading investigators to believe that robbery was not the motive. Among all of the evidence collected, two pieces of evidence
Mrs.Van Bliven shares a balcony with Mr.Schmidt giving Mr.Schmidt an opportunity to look through the glass doors and observe Mrs.Van Blivens belongings. In photograph A, it is clear that the intruder could see through the doors to figure out where Mrs.Van Bliven’s valuables are. The balcony doors are made partially of glass, giving the intruder the perfect opportunity to smash in the window, unlock the door and proceed to enter the suite. Observing photograph A, the suite is found undisturbed, In photograph B the suite has been broken into from the balcony. The window on the balcony door had been smashed to enable the suspect to unlock the door. Mrs.Van Bliven had said, she locked the door so the intruder would have to break the glass to get into the room.
The popular television show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigations has been on the air for 12 years, and it has brought forth the behind-the-scenes actions of criminal investigations, even if its portrayals are not always scientifically accurate. This has caused an interest in the forensic sciences that has led most people to a skewed view of how a criminal investigation actually works. The reality of a criminal investigation is that it is generally more tedious and difficult than the theory of criminal investigation would have you believe. By examining the forensic and investigative procedures of the case of Pamela Foddrill, it is apparent that the theory of criminal investigation was not representative of the procedures concerning examination
Bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA), known in the criminal justice field as blood splatter analysis, has been studied since the 1890s. Blood splatter, or bloodstain pattern constructional readings, is a technique that seeks to piece together the incident that caused an individual’s bleeding. Understanding blood splatter on a wall or various surfaces can be instrumental in formulating if a crime was committed and if the blood discovered at the crime scene can be used as evidence. The first documentation of blood splatter research occurred at the Institute for Forensic Medicine in Poland, by Dr. Eduard Piotrowski . During Dr. Piotrowski’s research and documentation period, where he used live bunnies to research blood splatter from head
The officers than began to search the home after finding that there was no drugs in the home and that they had the wrong home. The officers planted drugs in Kathryn basement while she is dying but stairs, after the shooting the same three officers met up at an unknown location to talk about what happen, so that they could all have one story. The paperwork from the investigations stated drugs was from in the home had been false. During the investigation the three officers admitted to lying when they submitted drugs they found in Kathryn home. The three officers was charged manslaughter and sentence to five, six, and ten years.
What did the forensic scientist find on the ladder in the third case? What was the importance of what he found?
By the window they also found a ladder, which they figured was the way the kidnapper came in and escaped through. The ladder had two sections, and one part of the two sections were broken or split off which seemed to have happened when the kidnapper escaped with the baby. It was a homemade extension ladder. In the investigation there wasn’t any fingerprint found, there weren’t any blood either.
Mealybugs are small insects that belong to order Hemiptera and class Pseudococcidae, have 2000 species that belong to 300 genera. Mealy bugs are named because of their waxy material that cover female body. These soft-bodied insects feed by sucking plants and belong to largest scale insects family (Miller and Williams, 1997; Downie and Gullan, 2004). Mealybugs are sexually dimorphic, Males are winged and can fly easily while females are wingless and can’t complete metamorphosis. Males have two long pairs of white waxy tails. Male mouth parts are non-functional and live just for short time 2-4 days (Anonymous, 2008).
On September 22, 2014 at 1:30 our group found and documented a murder. A male victim was found dead on the ground with a piece of string around his neck, drops of blood around the chest, a bloody hand print on lower chest, and a bendable metal wire on the left hand of the victim. The body was 10.5 inches from the wall. Next to the body not to far from the laptop cart in the back of the classroom was pieces of paper scattered around in one area. Also two used cups were found on the laptop cart, and one cup had lipstick on it. We’ve also discovered shattered glass with blood 13 inches from the back door and 6 inches from the wall. Another piece of evidence is a telephone
