Climbing Mount Everest is a bad Idea because of tragic accidents. According to the text book (pg 422) states “ Climbers who do not acclimatize successfully may begin exhibiting symptoms of altitude sickness while they are at Base camp. This illness is also called Acute mountain sickness.” When Climbing they wouldn't get enough oxygen and that is when they have Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Imagine yourself climbing Everest, the cold air in your lungs and your adrenaline rushing, because of the risk they’re taking. That feeling is what mountaineers crave. On April 18, 2014, an avalanche caused one of the greatest loss of life in the history of the fabled peek. Now the tragedy has sparked a debate on whether climbing Mt. The entire journey up the mountain is full of danger. You constantly have to worry about the oxygen you are getting and people around you are dying. The air is thin and if there is any air, it’s contaminated. You have to worry about getting the disease H.A.P.E. You have to worry about your health 24/7. You have to get past impossible obstacles. You just have to be strong. Climbing the mountain is an endless, painful battle. No matter what is happening outside of the mountain, on Mount Everest all that matters is Survival.

For my first reason people could die from people causing trouble on Everest. What could go wrong is avalanches, big rocks falling down on people, and animals like the snow leopard Himalayan black bear and the red panda.the air at the summit is really thin.So you have an oxygen mask to breath. The carabeiners could break killing the climbers on the rescue line. You could also get hape if you didn't have the proper training.
The deaths of sixteen people from twenty-five on Mount Everest have reignited debate as to whether climbing the 8,848 meter-high mountain should be banned.(Source 2) (Hook) Day by day many people try to climb Mt. Everest and consistently people are not successful at doing that. I believe mountaineering should be banned due to plenty of people are dying. According to Source 2 “, The falling ice hit twenty-five men, killing sixteen of them” meaning that even standing near Everest can kill people because of the falling ice. Mountaineering to others is the spirit of adventure, quest and the sense of achievement because they feel climbing Everest is prestigious although they don’t think about all the dangers that can affect their dreadful journey.
It would be very hard to find someone who does not agree with the opinion that curiosity is in the human nature. People will explore the depths of the oceans and blast off into space to learn and discover. However when people know they have a safety net or a ticket out of danger then they are more inclined to take risks. Mount Everest is one of these situations. Rescue services should not be given to people when they put themselves at risk because rescuing them from their own bad decisions can cost a lot of money, they life of others, and the life of themselves.
