Introduction The purpose of this essay is to discuss the process of changing behavior using a learning theory. There will be a need to describe the protocol used, how to set it up, and how effective this protocol will be in changing the behavior. In addition to this, it will be necessary to describe the original behavior and the intervention to use based on a learning theory. There will also be a need to describe the consistency in the protocol employed and the level of responsiveness and effectiveness the intervention was in behavioral change. Given a choice, most people would want to be in a position to control and perhaps change behavior in respect to different areas of life. Apart from behavior, other parts of human situation include thoughts, feelings, unconscious drives, and skills among others (Banyard and Grayson, 2008).

According to behaviorism, the focus is usually on behaviors that are objectively observable while offering a discount on the mental activities. Given that learning refers to the acquisition of new behavior, one of the common among the learning theories is the classic conditioning. Also referred to as the Pavlovian conditioning, the theory of classical conditioning is one that has been used repeatedly to provide an explanation and an interpretation of human behavior from different aspects. For instance, the theory of classical conditioning has been used to explain behaviors related to phobia, source of emotions, and feelings of nervousness among others.
