Three events leading to The Civil War are Dred v. Stanford, Bleeding kansas, and The compromise of 1850 were all events that were leading up to The Civil War. These events were very effectful and destroyed many things. The Civil War is when the The Union faced secessionists in eleven Southern states grouped together as the Confederate States of America. Some of the main roots of the causes were slavery, sectionalism, and states rights. Although there were many events leading up to The Civil War Bleeding kansas, Dred v. Stanford, and The compromise of 1850 were apart of the events. Bleeding kansas was an event leading to the Civil war. Bleeding Kansas was a series of violence in the united states involving anti-slavery. This event was when
The main event that led to the civil war was slavery. This can be seen in the Dred Scott vs. Sandford case in 1857.Also in bleeding Kansas in 1856.all of these events had everything to do with slavery in the North or South
Bleeding Kansas was a period of violence for about seven years (1854-1961). The violence broke out when a decision needed to be made about whether Kansas was going to become a free state or a slave state. Both parties fled to Kansas to influence the decision. John
Bleeding Kansas was when two political parties confronted each other in a violent way. This fight was about slavery happening in the United states, the two parties were “anti-slavery Free-Staters (North)” and the “Pro-slavery forces (South)” (Wikipedia). Settlers had to decide whether they wanted slavery to keep going on or if they want it to stop.
Bleeding Kansas was a series of conflicts between anti slavery people and pro slavery people. Bleeding Kansas started when they needed to decide if Kansas would be with the North or South and they did this by voting. Since there wasn’t many good records of who was a citizen in this time many people from
The Civil War was the bloody climax of the fight over slavery between the North and the South. Three crucial things that led to the Civil War were the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska act, and “Bloody Kansas.”
The Civil War was seen to come in several events and disputes, but the Kansas-Nebraska Act really set the mark. The Act allowed people to vote whether or not they wanted slavery in the new territory, thus creating even more conflict and arguments about the subject. The Act resulted in the North and South becoming infuriated with each other, as if they weren't really before, for the majority of the North was against slavery since the beginning. After all the disagreements, the southern states seceded from the Union. Nevertheless, the Civil War became inevitable in order to resolve these issues.
Bleeding Kansas is used to describe the violence during the settling of Kansas territories. It was series of confrontations between the pro-slaves and anti-slavery.
Bleeding Kansas was a period in time filled with violence during the settling of the Kansas territory. It was a small war fought between proslavery and antislavery for control of the Kansas territory. “In 1854 the Kansas-Nebraska Act overturned the Missouri Compromise’s use of latitude as the boundary between slave and free territory and instead, using the principle of popular sovereignty, decreed that the residents would determine whether the area became a free state or a slave state.” (Bleeding Kansas, A&E Television Networks, 2009) People all around came together to try to influence the decision on whether the state should be proslavery or a free state. Unfortunately, it took the turn for the worst with brutal violence. Blood was being shed all across Kansas. It contributed to the political storm that occurred throughout the United States before the Civil War came in to play.
Slavery, The Compromise of 1850, and Bleeding Kansas all had huge effects in leading to the Civil War. Slavery is an obvious reason that the Civil War begun, the Civil War was about freeing the slaves throughout the United States. Secondly The Compromise of 1850 was also a reason it began because it upset the South. This compromised stated that the South could no longer expand making more slave states. Although it did stop the South from it also put a fugitive slave law into effect which meant all slaves in the North that had escaped had to be returned. They made this law because the North was trying to avoid war which obviously didn’t work the way they intended it too. Then lastly Bleeding Kansas also had an effect because it was the Civil
Many events led up to the United States launching into the Civil War. One of the events that started the threat of the southern secession was California being admitted to the Union as a free state. The next event was the formation of antislavery parties. The next event was the event that sparked the Civil War and caused it to begin. This was the election of Abraham Lincoln as president. The south thought that with Lincoln as their president that they would have no say so the only choice they had was to secede.
The second really big thing that led to the civil war is that the republican party won the election of 1860 causing many southerners to be afraid. Both the fact that Abraham Lincoln was in office and that the fear of losing slavery and states rights, was enough to make Southern Carolina split off of the Union of states of America.
The collapse of the Union in 1861 leading to the Civil War was the consequence of major events of the 1850s. Following these events was the secession of the southern states where slavery was supported, and slavery had been a historical problem before the war. The secession of the southern states could not been avoided because the North and the South could not come up with a compromise. The South knew that the North wanted to end slavery and the South wanted slavery because it was their way of life. Eventually, the United State had to face the fatal Civil War, the darkest period in American history.
During the 1850s, slavery had become a topic of great discussion, especially when it came to the organization of new territories, and whether slavery should be allowed or prohibited in these new territories. Some argued that slavery was right, while others though it was not and should be ended, causing fear and anger between the free-states in the North and the Southern Slave states. This would lead to many problems for the nation. These problems not only created a division between the northern and southern states, it caused blood to be spilled and led to beginning of the American Civil War. Within these events, four significant ones created the spark needed to start the Civil War. These events were the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854, Bleeding Kansas, Harper’s Ferry Raid, and the Secession of the South from the Union, which created a division between northern and southern states and made the American Civil War inevitable.
In conclusion, the Civil War was the on American turf. Some events leading up the the Civil War were Nat turner’s rebellion , the Fugitive Slave Act, and Bleeding
In 1861, a horrific war began. Nobody had any idea that this war would become the deadliest war in American history. It wasn’t a regular war, it was a civil war opposing the Union in the North and the Confederate States in the South.. The Civil War cost many people’s lives on the battlefield and beyond. In addition it cost an extreme amount of money for the nation which possibly could have been avoided if the war had turned to happen a little differently.
