Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl is one of my favorite characters ever because he has so many layers and eventually defies the odds and becomes a sorta good person. In the first season of Gossip Girl Chuck is portrayed as a wild, reckless, over-sexed party boy. Chuck drinks excessively from a young age, associates with prostitutes, schemes, continuously breaks laws, and even finds himself in jail. People assigned all sorts of labels on him; brooding, a brilliant businessman, "bad boy Bass"... all of these are accurate descriptions, but they don't necessarily paint the whole picture of what's going on inside him. I think that his father Bart Bass's absence, neglect, and secrets adversely affected Chuck and really shaped who Chuck is. In season
With the 2017 New York Jets season down to four games remaining to play despite everything, they have a shot to make the playoffs. It is for the sake of Jets quarterback, Josh McCown who has astoundingly been this teams most valuable player. Without the 38-year old’s phenomenal play. The early season "tanking” assumptions could have been this team’s outcome.
His awkward personality is too much to handle, and it seems he only gets worse by the minute. I can understand his lack of social skills, but his actions always puts the family in terrible situations. The episode where the family can't drive over the bridge because of his fear is just ridiculous. Grow up Brick!
On July 5th, 1940 Chuck Close was born in Monroe, Washington. He only had 1 sibling, who’s name is Martin Close, his brother. Life when he was young was not to easy for him. He was dyslexic, a disorder that makes it difficult to read and write. Because his teachers did not know he had dyslexia, he was thought of as lazy, and teachers thought he didn’t do his work because of that. In his early 20’s, he became paralyzed from the neck down due
His character tends to be a by-the-book type that people listen to and from whom his teammates ask for guidance in times of need and grievance. His character is seen as a friend, mentor, and Alpha figure to almost everyone on the team. His personality changes very little over the course of the show; he has always been extremely serious, determined, and focused on his leadership of the team. Outside the office, specially while interacting with his loved ones, his seriousness becomes less intense and more carefree, code-humored side of his personality, and then his emotional expression changes and he is known for his surprises.
Chuck did everything he could to get Wilson back, but he couldn’t reach him. He was devastated when he realized that Wilson was actually gone. That showed that Wilson was like Chuck’s best friend for that time. Wilson contributed to Chuck’s survival by giving him a friend and someone to have conversations with everyday, even though he was just a
The fact that he is willing to completely cut ties with his family and travel across country by himself, shows his carelessness. Before he left, he sent his parents his transcript from college, an article about the Food Crisis in Africa, and a brief note about his graduation. Nothing to indicate he was leaving, nothing to indicate this would be the last time they would hear from him: “Not much else is happening, but it’s starting to get real hot and humid down here. Say Hi to everyone from me” (Krakauer 22). Because McCandless uses the Postal System for all of his letters to his family, he did not have to see or hear the emotions they felt in response. I believe it is easier to drop all relations with a person during this period in time. However Today, technology is the most efficient way to communicate with others. Without cell phones or computers, no one is able to reach others in a timely manner or see if others need to reach them. In the Movie Cast Away, it takes Chuck a very long time to get used to his limited resources on the island. He is constantly trying new ways to catch fish, build shelter, or
Chucks Physical Survival is that he had to come up with a survival plan baskely out of nowhere. From the point when the FedEx plane when down to when he built his raft and was in the middle of the ocean with no food or clean water. When the plane went down he had to try to stay on the little yellow raft in that storm. Than he floated to a island but he had nothing their. He had to make a shelter to protect him from the sun and he made
Why NFL Players Should Be Allowed to Protest Starting back to last year, NFL protests have been almost a weekly event. Ever since Colin Kaepernick first took a knee in the 3rd preseason game of the 2016 season to protest racial inequality, there have been countless protests by other players and teams as a whole. Since then, sports analysts, news outlets, and even the president have commented on the issue. Many agree with Kaepernick’s choice and purpose behind the protests, while many others think it’s disrespectful to veterans and are calling for the NFL to ban protests. However, the protests are perfectly legal, and players should be allowed to kneel or sit, if they please.
Sometimes nature was on his side, sometimes it wasn’t. Learning how to live with nature is difficult because nature is powerful, useful, and can involve communication with it. Nature is hard to work with because it is so powerful. In the beginning of the movie Chuck is on a plane on his way to deliver packages when the plane flies into an unexpected storm. It shakes the aircraft and it becomes very dangerous to be on and causes the plane to crash into the water.
Greenspan’s book was very eye opening. Being a child in the early 70’s, I grew up watching the first families of color on television, I thought that was normal, not realizing that George Jefferson living in a penthouse was so important. Jack Tripper of Three’s Company-living with two women, again I was watching women who seemed liberated, it never occurred to me that the television sit coms I had grown to love were actual snap shots in a world that was just becoming new territory. Raised the oldest of three girls my parents always told us we could do whatever we wanted in life, to be independent, to think for your own, and most important not to let any man tell us what to do, except for my dad, of course. In reading the Greenspan book I
This part of the film is effective because chuck started to cry knowing that he was once alone in the middle of the ocean. In this part of the
I hope your daughter is doing well, not only physically, but also emotionally. I really don’t know what I would’ve done if that happened to any of my girls. I am glad you took her away from the situation all together because it would probably help on her physical and mental healing process.
3Andrew- being the strong jock of the bunch andrew had a more heroic side to him but that changed when he bullied a kid and
Chuck ends up developing this type of character development when he is reunited with Kelly. He expects everything to go back to normal after he will be with Kelly. His relationship with Kelly changes after he finds out that she had moved on with her life, has children and is married. Chuck understands that, just like time, you must move forward. On the island Chuck has a volleyball companion named Wilson. He becomes emotionally attached to this object to keep himself less alone on the island. After Chuck loses Wilson in the ocean, Chuck feels
