Mini Paper Draft: Imagine if there were no Christmas trees on Christmas. How would it feel? Till this day in almost every American household there is at least one Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is one of the symbols and early traditions from the pagans that early Roman Catholics adopted. Although, the Roman Catholic Church perceived sinful and unacceptable some of the pagan traditions such as the value and behavior that the Anglo-Saxons had towards their cattle and how they sacrificed them to their idols. The church had to synchronize and blend some pagan traditions so they could influence their new strategy to evangelize and attract the heathens. To begin with, the cattle and oxen were essential to the lives of the Anglo-Saxons
Again, last year's Hallmark Christmas movies definitely introduced me to some incredible talent, and Mélanie St-Pierre happens to be one of those new faces (at least, new to me). I first saw her as Samantha Cross in Christmas Encore, and after requesting an interview, I discovered so much more about her and her solid body of work. Yet again, I have the honor of sharing a lovely, vibrant, gifted woman with all of my readers!

“ Spirit, hear me. I am not he man I was. I will not be the man I have been for so many years. Why show me all of this if I am past all hope? Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me. Let the boy live! I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The spirits of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.” (Scrooge, p.140). A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is an important story as it has a meaningful theme of change, as the quotes states above. But that isn’t the only theme that this beautiful story shows us. Many different spirits encounter him to help him realize why Christmas is important (I’m pretty sure that is the meaning of the spirits). When the first spirit of the past encounters him, he realizes what he has done, and regrets some of the things he did. The second spirit helped Ebenezer Scrooge recognize how what he has been doing has had an impact in other peoples life. When the frightening third spirit came and showed him his future and others futures, he discovers about himself and how people didn’t care that he died. When we read A Christmas Carol, we learn that it can have many different themes that can be a very important component to the story and even our lives.
We were very depress when all of my mom babies died, and because of that my mom is done having babies. We made Christmas rodomont’s for all of the babies that died so we wouldn’t forget them. My brother Isaiah almost died but we overpower all of that with teamwork. First, we made Christmas rodomont’s for all of the babies that died because they are in heaven and I believe that they can still see us so I want them to know that we still love them.
It's a familiar sight in December: twinkling lights, silvery tinsel, round shiny bulbs, a gold star, and presents, all on or under a fir or pine tree. Some people have a tradition of dusting off a box and bringing out a tree to assemble. Other families enjoy the annual outing to find the perfect real Christmas tree. But which is better" a real Christmas tree or an artificial one?
The commercialization of the holiday, however, came to be with the arrival of German immigrants. They brought with them the idea of Santa Claus, the Christmas Trees, and the Easter Bunny(Chicchi par.6). Think of how different Americans would be if only Christians celebrated Christmas, and Santa Claus was not a part of the holiday. All of the ads and commercials around this time of year would be drastically different, as well as our literature. All of the books that spur children’s imagination about elves and the North Pole would be lost.

Bright lights are glimmering, shining brightly from every direction.Golden angels line the pathway leading up to the famous New York christmas tree. In between these messengers of God are tiny pine trees, cowering before the sizable beast before me. The large tree is littered in lovely lights for everyone to look at. At the very top of this pine is a bright blue star, representing the star of Bethlehem. Surrounding this magnificent tree were buildings, stretching tall up into the sky. The opaque tan that they were painted in perfectly complimented the rest of the scene. As I stand here, I am overwhelmed by dozens of emotions. Happiness, joy, terror, and a sense of giddiness. I have finally made it. The New York christmas tree. It seems like
The Christmas Day Tsunami was caused by a massive earthquake. There was forces that had been building up for hundreds of years and once they forces were released it caused violent and killer waves to be unleashed. These violent movements of the tectonic plates displaced huge amounts of water which sent powerful shock waves in every direction. The Earthquake that caused the Tsunami was a result of the sliding of the India plates which had been going on for a millennium. The Earth shuddered due to trillions of rocks that were moved. The disturbed seafloor was displaced and created the Tsunami. So many people were caught unprepared because this was something that took time. Which is better: a real Christmas tree or an artificial one? I believe that despite all the effort a real Christmas tree takes, it is worth the struggle to get the family all together. Most will say that artificial trees are better because of the time saved, the larger variety, and the cheaper they are. I believe that getting an artificial tree goes against what Christmas is really all about, traditions.
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground. Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy.
