Three years ago I went to an International House of Prayer (IHOP) convention in Kansas City, KS and it changed my life. The experience involved three days of prayer, fellowship, worship, witnessing, and healing. Prophesying was taking place and I was there to witness it. The Holy Spirit was alive in that place and the energy was almost overwhelming. Miracles were happening all around me. Children were getting up out of their wheelchairs and walking. Some people were blind. Through prayer they could suddenly see. The weak became strong, and the broken became healed. I thought to myself “What a magnificent God”! That moment changed my perspective completely. The truth is, the power of God is in each of us Christians and the same God that was …show more content…
I have wanted a college education for many years, but haven’t known where to begin. Once I looked into Christian Colorado University (CCU) I knew I wanted to attend. I want to be a part of a community where I can earn an education while being able to share my faith in God with other students. I feel that being accepted into Christian Colorado University would be the first step in advancing my education, and my faith. I would like to be able to be a part of a university that allows me to learn academically, and strengthen my relationship with God. Overall, many experiences in my life have changed me. However, the miracles in which I witnessed at IHOP, has given me stronger faith. Now I am finally ready to begin my college education. I think attending a school where I can connect with others in terms of faith would be a blessing. I look forward to this journey and opportunity at CCU. I plan on pursuing Theology as a Major. My experience at IHOP led me to want to learn more about God. I have the confidence I need, the spirit of the Lord living within me, and I know that with God the impossible doesn’t exist. Thank you, Erika

Wayland Baptist isn’t a big university as in matter of fact the main campus is in Plainview. It has a community of 25,000 on the high plains of west Texas between Lubbock and Amarillo.
Attention Brevard college students, we have a new professor on campus and her name is Dorinda Christian. She is our newest BORG professor here at Brevard College.

In October 1927, the first ever North American Christian Convention was held in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was one of many conventions that was held at the time and are held still to this day. Throughout this time, the North American Christian Convention has grown and developed, but how did it all begin and how has history shaped it into becoming what it is today? Throughout this paper I will be discussing the different events and people, that shaped and molded the North American Christian Convention into what it is today.
The main reason that I am sold on this Baptist thing is because our statement of beliefs is not a creed or confession that tries to express all of the things that southern Baptist believe but is instead broad statement that hits the main points. This is important to me because unlike some other mainline denominations Baptists do not base the whole organization around a certain theological system. Because of this the Southern Baptists allow for a minister to change his view as he grows, reads, and learns without having to leave the denomination.
In 2009, Oklahoma Baptist University had its first centennial celebration. Since Oklahoma Baptist University first opened its doors in September of 1911, they have become one of the most popular Christian liberal arts universities in Oklahoma. The University strives to help students achieve academic excellence while integrating faith into all knowledge ages. The University is owned and operated by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.
In today’s society, a good quality education is an important and valuable necessity. As a college student at Lone Star College, my college experience has greatly influenced me in an enormous amount of ways. By attending college, I have not only had a chance to receive a quality education and degree, but also an opportunity to socialize and interact with various people from different cultures. In addition, the professors on campus have been extremely helpful towards teaching me to succeed in both inside and outside the class room. Furthermore, my college experience at Lone Star has greatly influenced and encouraged me to be successful and achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.
How did the earth and everything on it come into existence? This is a question, that for the Christian worldview is answered by the Bible, in Chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis. The Bible makes clear to it’s readers that God existed before anything else. The creation account in Genesis 1 splits creation into 6 days and a 7th day of rest. The first day God created the earth and Heaven as well as day and night. The second day God separated the earth from heaven to create the sky. On the third day God separated the waters on earth so there would be dry land. He created plants and trees that could bear fruit and seeds. God made theses plants so that they would be able to keep growing from the seeds that fell from them. On the fourth day God created the
Ever since I was six years old, the year I was baptized, I have been on fire for the Lord. I attended a Christian school for eight years and have always been very involved at my church. My first experience outside of my “Christian bubble” was when I went to a public high school. For the first time in my life, I was out of my comfort zone. Being at a public school challenged my faith, strengthened my leadership skills, and forced me to branch out and meet people I would have never encountered otherwise. However, even though being at a public school helped strengthen my faith in ways I would have never guessed, I believe attending a Christian university—like Liberty—is the best choice to further my education. Going to college is new and exciting, but it can also be a demanding and intimidating experience. Being so far away from home, in a different environment,
My name is Asia Harvey. I am eighteen years old. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am a freshman in college majoring in communications. Worldview to me means how everyone in the world interprets reality. I believe everyone has a worldview and it is influenced by our ethics, morals, and family values. It can also be influenced by what we hear, what we read, what we see or who we associate with. Worldview is mostly influenced by religion and science even though, a worldview can and do change. I believe the Christian worldview deals with the belief in the Bible. It leads me to believe that God created the universe in six days and on the last day he rested and that I am God's creation put on earth to fellowship with him and govern
In today’s extremely competitive, job-scarce economy, having a college degree is now a steadfast requirement when applying to even entry-level professional jobs. Choosing a college has always been a challenging task for high school seniors, but it is now fraught with stress and anxiety for nearly every adult who seeks to further their education. Questions abound: what school offers the exact program I desire? What school is in the best location, or has the best campus? What school feels ‘right’?
A coworker of mine that I had grown close with would have weekly and sometimes daily conversations about The Bible and the Word of God and how it changes our lives. Once I told him of the changes that were soon to come my way, he began telling me I should attend CCU. After talking with him and reading the vision and mission statements of CCU, I knew this is where I should be. So eventually, I went online and asked to speak with a counselor to see what I needed to do to become a student and start this next exciting chapter of my life.
This has shaped my aspirations and dreams of going to college. I truly believe that Colorado Christian University is exactly what I need, in order to reach my goal. It is a stepping stone; just another “experience”. I know that if this is the plan that God has for me, then he will let everything fall into place. A friend once said to me, “You’ll never know more perfect joy or peace than when you are in the center of His will.” I want to be successful and make something of myself; to prove that I can accomplish something great; something larger than life. I’ve been raised in a family where just enough finances have been made to cover what is needed only. This is because of the fact that my mother and father had no further education after high school. Because I’ve watched my parents struggle financially over the years, I know for sure what I want for my life. I plan to have the lifestyle of my choosing. I don’t want to just barely get by like my parents have my whole life. I will push myself to be the best that I can, I will do whatever I need to do, in order to
The first goal I have is to understand the scriptures in the Bible and grow in my faith. When I started to look at colleges, I didn’t even think about attending a Christian college. I contacted a junior college in a nearby town to see what they had to offer me. By the grace of God, they recommend me to CCU. At the time that I enrolled, I didn’t realize that I would be required to take Bible classes. At first, I wondered
