When Christopher was eight years old, he didn’t know that he would be attacked and be scarred for life in less than a day. Christopher arrived at his friend's house. His friend told him to hold a stick and say fetch to the husky. Before Christopher could even throw the stick the dog viciously attacked him. His friend ran to get help. After that Chris had to have 1000 Stitches. Chris had very bad nightmares about the dog attacking him. That dog scarred him for a very long time. To this day he still has nightmares about that dog. Krakauer admits that Chris McCandless was a rash, but he insists he "wasn't a nutcase, he wasn’t a sociopath, he wasn’t an outcast. McCandless was something else-- although precisely what is hard to say. A pilgrim, perhaps" (85). Many thought McCandless was wise and he knew what he was dong, while others disagree, stating his poor decisions contributed to his own death. In my opinion, Chris was indeed wise- he was a young man who didn’t care about labels, brands, big things, or anything materialistic. Instead, he thrived on more important concepts of life like truth and freedom. He believed he would find his true self and relieved of society once he became one with the wild.
Riding his Harley to his uncle's funeral on July, 2, 2014, Michael Ludka wanted butter pecan from Leon's Frozen Custard. He headed eastbound on W. Oklahoma Ave, and ready to turn on S. 27th St. at the famous custard stand. Ludka never satisfied that craving because Maurice Doll made an illegal U-turn right into Ludka. The kicker? Doll did not even have a driver's license.
You don’t need to carry a gun to be a vigilante. Sometimes, even a sizable club can suffice—such in the case of Buford Pusser, a former professional wrestler whose intolerance of crime led him to become sheriff and fearlessly tackle corruption in his hometown. Pusser’s life story served as an inspiration for the 1973 film Walking Tall that made him a hero across
Allan Bakke recorded suit in the wake of discovering that minority competitors with bring down capabilities had been admitted to medicinal school under a program that saved spaces for "impeded" candidates. The California Supreme Court requested the school, the State-run University of California, to concede Bakke. The college at that point engaged the United States Supreme Court.
Kevin Gates is an inspirational speaker and pushes people to push them self. “Love the people god gave you because he will need them back someday.” Is what he is saying in this quote is don't spend so much time on not liking people and just enjoy life and don't fight with others. “Don't lose your mind trying to wait for people to come to their senses.” In this quote Kevin is saying don't tear yourself down when people don't talk to you or contact you.
When you see yourself living out your dream, the thought of what you're most passionate about pulls you in. Passions in one's life change based on what had affected that person. Dreams are defined to change. However, the benefits of these thoughts is that they belong to you and only you. Not one person's opinions matter but your own. Chris McCandless simply was living out his own ideal life, the way he wanted; not to the idea of his parents, his friends or of society. McCandless wanted to escape society and civilization which he felt was tying him down, while also trying to discover himself. McCandless is not by any means a wacko. He was simply defying society and its ideal expectation it holds upon us as a whole.
Every state should’ve been like Longtown in the America 200 years ago because Longtown was a free place for everyone no matter their color. Longtown needs to be taken care of the most because it’s the first town where race and color didn't matter. An article published by Washington Post titled “Ohio town holds rare history:Races mix freely for nearly 200 years” and a youtube video called “Vanishing Act” both explains how a town in Ohio was one of the first places to be free of discrimination. According to Washington Post, a descendant of James Clemens who brought the land for Longtown named Connor Keisser stated that in his childhood memories he used to play with cousins that had different skin colors. Longtown was the first place where there
On September of 2016, I did an oral interview with Vanna Moore about her military past and Vanna’s ties to Texas. Over the whole interview, I asked her questions about her experience in Afghanistan and how it shaped her views of her state of Texas. Through her interview, Vanna touched on her feelings about Texas, the military, American culture, and life after military. At times, she seemed comfortable and at ease sharing her thoughts, and other moments seemed more difficult to get through. This interview helped me to understand that military service can really shape a person’s world view, both abroad and at home. Additionally, after this oral interview experience I feel like I know how to effectively use oral histories in my future classrooms.
Child soldiers are not always responsible for their actions. These children are often forced to fight and have little choice whether they are enlisted or not. These children had no choice but to kill other wise they would be killed themselves. Ishmael Beah was one of these child soldiers who had no choice but to go fight or die if they had left. They had lost their families and had nowhere to go. This was because they had killed their families and everyone living in their village. Overall, it becomes clear that these children were treated unfairly and were victims.
Well being a seventeen year old black female from St.Louis, there isn't much that I can't remember from the infamous Mike Brown case that shook the World. I've always been someone that's really passionate about social issues like violence in inner cities, the death penalty, women's rights when it comes to abortion, and many other things. But the thing that I'm probably most passionate about, even since I was a little girl was criminal reforms and solving the problem of there being so many Black and Hispanic young men in this country's prisons. And ultimately wanting to give young black and brown men a better image, letting the world know that they are more than just a statistic. So when Mike Brown was fatally shot, back in 2014, it really hurt
A struggling local businessman hired you to create a distinctive logo for his restaurant: “Aubergine.” However, after all the design work is done, you discover a restaurant in the same town is already using the name. This other restaurant sends your client a “cease and desist” letter. How could this have been avoided, and what are the potential consequences?
The person I interviewed was the daughter of a Vietnam War veteran. The interview was conducted where I gave her questions about the life her father had and how it felt when she was in the United States going to elementary, high school, and college. She was not a veteran but the effects of her father’s participation in the war affected her greatly throughout her school and personal life.

Show rivalry is sometimes part of the performance itself but often it is frowned upon if it gets out of hand. Matt LeBlanc, known for his role in the long time running television series FRIENDS threatened to quit Top Gear. That is unless co-host Chris Evans gets kicked off the show first.
