A significant event that happened today involved a child who was demonstrating stubbornness. The teacher had an activity planned for me, which dealt with number recognition. Essentially, the teacher provided instructions, directing me to present a number from 1-10, where then the child would count the number of bear figurines to match the given number. I came across one child who was being difficult and did not want to wait her turn while I was assisting the other children. She kept peeking her head through the door asking if it was her turn, as I kept telling her that I would call her when it was. Finally, when it got to her turn, I called her into the back room and told her to count six bears. Instead, she told me she did not want to and that she wanted

However, there were only 24 bears in total, and in addition, the children were only supposed to practice numbers 1-10. After explaining to her that she could not count 40, she ignored me and continued to try anyway. I attempted to use reinforcement methods, by telling her that she has to follow instructions, although, she remained resistant. She began playing with the timer, informing me that she wanted more time by changing the clock to 15 minutes, instead of 10. I told her that she would have to leave the room and join the rest of the class if she did not cooperate appropriately. This event caught me off guard, causing me to feel uncomfortable because as a teaching assistant there is only so much one can do/authority I have. During that moment, I felt hopeless because of the mutual respect that has been established in the relationships I have developed. However, all because one child had the tendency to refuse from listening to instructions and wanted to do things her way, had caused me to be
Cladribine is an adenosine deaminase inhibitor. Adenosine deaminase, an enzyme involved in purine metabolism, plays an important role in DNA and RNA synthesis through the turnover of nucleic acids in tissues. Cladribine is a well-known purine nucleoside analog which interferes with adenosine deaminases, thus used for treating lymphoproliferative disorders, such as hairy cell leukemia (HCL) [1].
Erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular carcinoma (Eph) receptors, a group of highly conserved transmembrane proteins composed of multiple domains, participate in various cell signaling pathways. So far, 16 Eph receptors have been identified in vertebrates, which can be divided into two major classes (EphA and EphB) based on sequence similarity. Mammals including humans have 14 Eph receptors (EphA1–EphA8, EphA10, EphB1–EphB4 and EphB6).
So we start of with x^2-4x+y^2+8y=-4 you would then take 1/2 of -4 and square it, then take 1/2 of 8 and square it. You would then get x^2-4x+4-4+(y^2+8y+16-16=-4. After all of these steps you would factor the square, x-2^2-4+y+42-16=-4, x-2^2+y+4^2-20=-4. Then you would add 20 to both sides, x-)^2+y+4^2=16
If you deal with a great deal of data collection on a daily basis, you know that inputting and collecting that data can be a real pain. But rather than relying on multiple, complex systems, what if there was a way to collect multiple fields of data all at the same time? And with just one single adapter and cable? The Heidenhain ND1100/1200 Quadra-Chek Gage Interface with Multi-field Output allows for you to send data directly to Excel, with no software wedge required! You will be able to output to five fields in Excel or to any other Explorer based SPC programs with just the simple push of a single button.
Two numbers have a sum of 20. The sum of their squares is a minimum. Write the two equations required to solve this system of equations.
There are two methods for creating game applications for iPhones. One method is to use the original Xcode and make a code with objective C which is much complex but more powerful, the other method is to use a game development engine which is much simpler but is limited. Before working with both of the above said methods it is required to register as an Apple developer which allows you to work with SDK and iTunes connect. Details such as company name and EIN number are required to register as an Apple developer. Some of the free game development engines are listed below.
(2A) The reason for partisan policies in the early republic were conflicts and compromises. The Shays’ Rebellion, 1786, as well as the Whiskey Rebellion, 1791, helped contribute to the United States of America’s first party system in the 1790s. Shays’ Rebellion was an armed uprising that took place around Springfield, Massachusetts led by Daniel Shays against alleged injustices against economic and civil rights. They believed that the reform was needed against aggressive tax and debt collection. The Whiskey Rebellion was a tax protest. It was the first tax implemented on a domestic product during the presidency of George Washington. It was to help raise revenue for the Revolutionary War debt. It taxed any
I am currently taking SPAN 1022 and even though it is only the second week I am really struggling. I am having great difficulty with the class and want to discuss how I can complete my second language requirement. I want to discuss my options for possibly taking Spanish at a community college over the summer and how that would fit into my scheduling. Overall, I want to talk about how I can put myself in the best position to succeed.

The conception of transparency seems to be everywhere in todays time, from the products we consume as buying customers to the governments we look to in leading our nations. Social media is another refuge for transparency. With millions of people noticing, it’s difficult for any organization or individual to say one thing and do another. Supporters of the transparency movement say that it is a very good thing; after all, transparency is serving to keep people honest and up front about the products and services they sell to consumers.
D was dealing with report the abuse thus she was not teaching class so the teaching style were different), but they also know that she wants them to succeed and will be more leant with them. For example on day 4, which took place on Halloween, “the children would not settle down…, so Ms. D had to threaten to take away recess, make them walk laps at recess, and also told them that she would not give them their Halloween Bucket Gifts she brought if they did not behave. Some of the children were told that they had lost their buckets, but by the end of the observation hours, Ms. D had hinted that they had regained them because they had quieted down; however, the children still had not focused on the lecture.” (Appendix, Day 4). In the end, they all did receive the buckets even though they were not listening (this information was gathered the following observation
Aside from punishment for the entire class; an educator can establish positive reinforcement to encourage the more appropriate behavior. It can be proven that punishment only teaches a student what not to do, but without a reinforcement; the student will only be made aware of the negative behaviors he/she is exuding instead of what is also expected of them. One technique a teacher can use is shaping; when the final response is clearly identified and is begun by reinforcing any behavior that approximates a step towards the final response, no matter how remote. In the case of Billy, an educator should initially define expectations in detail; explain to the students what is to be expected of them while an educator is teaching a lesson and post classroom expectations up on the walls or go a step further and model the expectations. Because the students in this scenario are in elementary school, it is conducive to provide concise instructions about appropriate behavior and have the students practice; allowing them to fully understand what is accepted as appropriate behavior. Furthermore, the teacher should complement Billy when he is behaving in a positive manner such as, sitting quietly or paying attention to the lesson. Granted, Billy will still strive for the attention; this strategy
The article “No! I will not! Understanding and responding to student defiance” is published by Andrea Smith and Elizabeth Bondy, 4-th grade teacher and a University of Florida College of Education professor respectively, in Childhood education magazine. It contains a thorough analysis of the defiance issue as well as a manual, regulating the conduct of a teacher, who pursues a goal of effective students’ behavior management.
In this case study, first year third grade teacher, Maggie Lindberg, is having trouble controlling her class. The children are well-behaved during their art period. However, when Ms. Lindberg is in charge, they are highly uncontrollable. They talk when they are not supposed to talk and they don’t listen to anything that Maggie says. There’s supposed to be a nature walk/field trip and Ms. Lindberg’s class has yet to complete the task.
I learned the day before my visit, Miss Suzy threw a pizza party for the children. The day of my visit they were going to make their own individual pizzas (I did not get to view that part of the day). I noticed that during circle time, two children seemed uninterested had wandered off. Miss Suzy did not do anything about it, she just let them be. I thought that was wrong of her because the two children were not being involved. The children could of already known what they were speaking about. If that was the case she should of given them some work to do. When circle time was over, Miss Suzy asked each child which part of the room they wanted to play in. Students chose dramatic play, arts and crafts, reading, and playing on the computer. Miss Suzy walked around each group asking them questions, expanding their imaginations. Morrison states "that teachers work with gingival children, small groups" (2003, p.232). Watching Miss Suzy, you can see she really enjoys what she does. She never once ignored a student who went up to her. She seemed genuily interested when the children shared stories with her. She always welcomed them with a hug when walking into the room in the morning to begin their day, and the children would come in running to hug her.
