Having ridiculously high prices for this food type of is not only promoting obesity among children and adults, but it’s giving the rest of the population a skeptical view towards having to commit to a diet that truly satisfies the need of nutrients for your body systems to work properly. The costs of a healthy diet causes families to choose snacks that do not contain enough nutrients for the immune response, and exposes them to enormous disease risks such as diabetes and heart disease. Some people think that everybody has access to healthy food and that the rest is one’s choice. The first article that I chose to research was titled "Obese Children Have Greater Risk for Adult Heart Disease". The article explains that when good dietary and exercise habits are neglected, obesity can start developing, even in early childhood. This can ultimately lead to increased risk of heart disease later in your child's life ("What's Wrong", 2015). I think that this is important because parents have the responsibility to their kids to afford them the best future possible, one without greater risk of heart diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. As the kids get older, I think education plays a huge part in it as well. If parents do not teach their children the proper way to eat healthy and exercise, the children -upon growing up- will take those bad habits and continue them through their adult lives.

Childhood obesity has become one of the more severe health that our nation is currently facing. On average children weighed more than 5kg higher compared to 3 decades ago in the United States (Lobstein, Jackson-Leach, Moodie, Hall, Gortmaker, Swinburn, ... & McPherson, 2015). According to Block and Oken (2017), a study they did revealed that more than a third of the total population of children in the United States is obese.
