A multi-agency approach is a range of professionals including speech therapists, Special Educational Needs Co-coordinator (SENCO) , key workers or physiotherapists etc. that all work together and support children and their families in provisions that need to be made in order to support a child with special needs. I want to become a Child Life specialist in the future. Child life specialists are trained professionals with knowledge in helping children and their families overcome some of life’s challenging and stressful events. Child life specialist have knowledge in child development and family systems, child life specialists promote effective coping through play, preparation, education, and self-expression activities(Child Life Council). They provide emotional and psychosocial support for children and families in a health care setting based on the individuals needs. Because they understand that a child’s wellbeing depends on the support of the family, child life specialists provide information, support and guidance to parents, siblings, and other family

I am currently working for an after school program. The job is temporary until I find something better. I been applying to multiple jobs but I wasn’t getting pass the interviews. I told my friends and family members about my frustrations. My parents tell me to take my time and my friends relate to my frustrations. A couple of weeks ago a close friend of mine told me to apply where she works and I got the job. I will be starting this month.
As a child I grew up in the foster care system. My formative years consisted of uncertainty and confusion since I was not able to express myself effectively to the state assigned child advocates. During my time in foster care I volunteered to care for the younger children who had special needs. As I began to care for the children especially with neurological brain damage I became intrigued by how little science seemed to know about Special Education or effective treatment. At the age of eleven I started reading peer-reviewed articles such as Neurology journal and Exceptional Children (EC) trying to adsorb everything science related that would provide answers. Several years after I aged out of the system I had a child of my own who was born with severe Autism and sensory integration disorder. My son Andrew was non-verbal for the first four years even after extensive

Why You Need to Have A Back-up Childcare Service for your Kids - 5 Reasons
I can confirm, that I do work in a childcare setting. The School I volunteer with is called Chestnuts Primary School. Currently I work there on a Thursday afternoon. I decided on working one afternoon a week for the time being, since I am closer to my exams and prefer to use additional time concentrating on them. Towards the end of January,I will be extending the time I volunteer, in order to increase my skills for the future.
Student Profile In 2008, amid the recession, I lost my job at a manufacturing company; I was then a purchasing manager with 15 years of experience, jobless and without future job leads, my mother suggested as she had often suggested, why not go into education? to which I always replied, “I am not good at teaching”, this statement is still true, and will forever be true, since my decision to become an early childhood educator. Since then, I have learned that being an early childhood educator means to interact every day all day with children, to observe, guide and facilitate the children should they need me. My belief is that no matter how young or old you are, you are continuously learning and teaching, the key is to always be attentive, as this life is an everlasting class.
We believe money will follow if we do what we love. It makes sense for people to pursue a job that they would enjoy doing for their rest of their lives and make great money out of it. However, some people out there are unfortunate and must find a job to provide for themselves and their families. But what if we were financially stabled and did not have to work 40 plus hours, would people still pursue the same path? I would for the reason of making a difference in a child’s life. I would love to coach and teach physical education for 20 hours a week and not have to worry about how much money is in my bank account. I would have no financial worries and be able to focus on my passion of coaching and teaching. I played baseball for 14 years and
Due to my experiences with caring for children, I have discovered a passion for child care. I indeed enjoy working with children especially those of a very young age. I especially enjoy one to one interaction with a child so that I can learn to gain their trust and love. In addition to this, I finding the study of how the mind functions and how it influences certain behaviors and thoughts very appealing hence why I pursued a major in psychology. When I heard about this minor I was very thrilled to apply because it combined two of my greatest passions, working with children and the study of the mind. I do not wish to become an ADP student only because I love working with children but also because I believe in the physical and psychological wellbeing
One of the greatest pieces of advice that I have received is that if you do something that you love, you will never work a day in your life. It took me changing my major three times to find what I am truly passionate about. After I changed my major to child and family studies I enjoyed learning everyday and applying what I learned from class into the real world. The knowledge that I obtained through my classes assisted me through my experiences as a nanny, a student worker for the department of child and family studies at Tarleton, and lastly through my internship at Gladney Center for Adoption this past summer. I had thought about pursuing a MSW since I switched to child and family studies. The few social work classes I was enrolled in have been some of my favorite material. Ultimately my internship through Gladney and my passion for adoption led to my final decision to pursue a masters in social work.
