Child labor a common thing in the 20th century, kids working… whats next kids voting,drinking,driving and other adult like responcibilitys or privileges. Child labor the employment of children in any working position such as fast food chains, grocery stores, and many more jobs. Child labor is anything that interferes with schooling, mentally, physically, socially, or harmful to the child employe. Child labor can not be justified due to the harm it can cause to children aka americas feature.

What is child labor? And how bad has it gotten over the years?  According to the author of the   " Opposing View Points on Child Labor " It’s known throughout the years that child labor was a common thing. "Child Labor is a problem of immense and economic proportions in many developing regions of the world today"(Hugh D Hindman 233). In some places children working alongside their parents to provide was usual. Children were put to work in factories and mines in the Industrial Revolution. Kids young as six worked up to sixteen hours a day. Even some where beat by the bosses if they didn't do anything right or were to fall asleep on the job. They often work in horrible conditions, like operating dangerous machinery or other dangerous tasks. In 1802, Britain's factory Act made it so children nine to thirteen can work no more than eight hours per day. And the ages fourteen and up can work to twelve hours per day.

You might not realize it but you could be wearing, eating, or using something that a child had to work long awful hours for in order to receive barely enough money to help his or her family to survive. It is estimated that there are still 215 million kids ages 5 to 17 working illegally. What is child labor? Child labor is work that could be harmful to children’s health, wellbeing or education. Some common places child labor is still found in is: China, India, Russia, Brazil, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Republic of Congo, and more.
