Academically unmatched and with a pledge to serving the global community, The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Nursing is at the forefront of nursing education. Moreover, The University of Illinois at Chicago’s graduate nursing program is aimed at producing well-rounded clinicians who not only utilize evidence-based practice but also are aware of health disparities and are global movers in healthcare. Such training will allow me to have a broad impact on the people I serve and be self-sufficient.
The Indiana State Board of Nursing is a body of nine selected members, comprised of a mixture of RNs and LPNs. This board listens to cases regarding university nursing programs, certified RNs fighting for their license, and individuals who are trying to obtain a nursing license. Midway during my first semester of nursing school I found out that my former husband was dying of cancer, specifically CLL- Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia; I was torn between the rigors of nursing school and doing what was best. Despite our shortcomings and however frightful our divorce was many years ago, I decided to care for him during his dying days. I felt that it was the right decision and my moral obligation to “do the right thing”; it was in my heart and for my children.
The Illinois State Board of Nursing is overseen by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). To have an agency that ensures the safe practice of nursing by monitoring license compliance and to take action against those that practice unsafely, protects the safety of the public. Therefore, any person who deems a nurse’s behavior or action in violation of a law or rule can file a complaint.
1. The nurse is asked to implement a new, complex, and invasive procedure and is concerned that this may violate the state’s nurse practice act.
In the United States of America (USA), state medical boards (SMBs) are legislatively established to ensure that only competent physicians are practicing medicine and that those physicians act professionally.
I agree with you that all states should have similar standards in providing licenses for healthcare professionals. Each state has different guidelines and requirements for nursing license. Some don’t even require CE’s for renewal, and some require certain number of practice hours within specified timeframe in addition to CE’s. I feel that continuing education provides us opportunities to acquire new skills and stay current with changes in the field. Each state must have unique need for the profession, and different political climate surrounds nurses. I believe that standardizing the licensure requirement will lead to higher quality of care and benefit patients.

Corrective surgical entry points: Wound recuperating quality is critical in the achievement of restorative surgery. (Lu, Jin and Pang 2006) analyzed the impinging of FGF2 on coiled repair in 50 female patients who accomplished restorative surgery. Every single surgical entry point were perfect cuts, and self-controls (another incisional twisted on a similar patient) were utilized. In the treatment amass FGF2 was connected once every day until expulsion of lines, beginning with the primary postoperative day. Wounds because of laser reemerging were spread with FGF2 twice day by day until the point that normal de-crustation happened. The control gather was subjected to regular dressing change until expulsion of fastens. The outcome
There are several alternative pathways for the glycogen to break down after the G6Pase is defected and can lead to the manipulation of the normal level of substances in the body (Figure 1). As shown in the Figure 1, the glucose 6-phosphate can convert into pentose phosphate that catabolize and increase the amount of uric acid; Glucose 6-phosphate also can undergo glycolysis to form pyruvate and increase the level of lactate and alanine which can cause lactic acidosis and hyperalanemia respectively. The symptoms of the type I GSD are noticeable for a 3-4 months old infant while the liver and kidney are affected due to impaired glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis. The affected
I am a recent baccalaureate graduate of Charleston Southern University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May of 2015. On June 20, 2015, I received my NCLEX-RN results and became a registered nurse in the state of South Carolina. After considering my options for a graduate program, I happily accepted my offer from Case Western Reserve University and moved to Cleveland to pursue my graduate studies. Over the course of my undergraduate career, theories were included in the curriculum but not in depth. It is for this reason that I am excited to partake in this course – to learn the foundational and applicable theories of the nursing profession.
Pursuing a degree in nursing is no easy task, but I am up for the challenge. As an incoming junior nursing student at Ramapo College of New Jersey I understand that the industry of nursing has changed immensely since its beginnings. Nursing is in fact a business, the entire health industry is a business. In the past, nurses used to take orders from doctors and provide loving compassion to their patients. Now in 2017, nursing is much more independent and nurses face much more challenging and vigorous situations as health care providers that may times leads them to forget about providing loving compassionate care.
Nursing has been a part of my life indirectly for many years, from something as insignificant as giving a stranger a tissue for their blood nose to an impromptu counseling session for a friend with emotional trauma. I have had a growing desire to become a nurse all my life and now it strikes me as a very worthwhile and satisfying career to choose. I have always wanted to be able to make a difference to people's lives. With Nursing I can do this in a confident and supportive way. Studying Nursing and attending The University of Notre Dame are both designed to expand the capacity to think critically and act morally, broaden an individual’s cultural understanding and embrace the importance of maintaining an ethical and informed way of living.
There is no doubt that the health care system is constantly changing and working to improve its flaws, to the best of its ability. Whether nurses like it or not we are a part of the ever changing health care system. “With more than 3 million members, the nursing profession is the largest segment of the nation’s health care workforce” (Institute of Medicine [IOM], 2010, p. 1). The Institute of Medicine believes that nurses should be active in transforming the profession of nursing, along with the health care system. Regardless, of backgrounds, race, and age all nurses can contribute to the future of the nursing profession. The following paper will discuss the Institute of Medicine’s nursing expectations and recommendations, as well as the opportunity to becoming a clinical nurse instructor.
