Perspective One: The Referee (Ed) Ed was having a fun time reffing hockey. He was reffing a men's league game that night, what he encountered was not what he expected. The 1st period was clean no penalties or rough housing. The 2nd period was starting to get chippy and then Ed started giving out penalties. The 3rd period started getting out of hand when the highlight of the night happened. Peter brought it down and deked the Beiseker goalie out and celebrated right in the goalies face, as he celebrated the beiseker guy hit him into the boards. A huge brawl took out on the ice knowing Ed's size he is very short so he skated to center ice when Chestermere goalie started skating down. Perspective Two: Chestermere Goalie (Clinton) Clinton was
Every sport has its own unique signature that separates it from the rest of the sports world. Baseball has the homerun, basketball has the slam-dunk, golf has the hole in one, and football has the touchdown. But, perhaps the sport with the most distinguished and unique signature is hockey and its fights. However, hockey officials and executives are trying to eliminate the games most distinctive aspect. Yet, because of the recent decline in the amount of fighting in the National Hockey League (NHL) and since a ban on fighting in the NHL could jeopardize the popularity of the sport, eliminating fighting from games may not be necessary. Over recent years, the amount of fighting in NHL games has been on the decline and the role of the one time
Pointless action gets two teammates into an argument over “little” money. In this article it goes by to explain how IK Enemkpali “sucker punches” Geno Smith, the starting Quarterback of the New York Jets. The punch cause Smith jaw to be fractured in two places. New York Jets head coach, Todd Bowles, action towards the whole incident causes Enemkpali to get cut from the team. Enemkpali was upset with Geno Smith basically because Smith was given 600$ to attend a camp. Due to a death in Smith family, he couldn’t attend the camp which cause Enemkpali to lose 600$. As the two head back to training camp for football practice, Enemkpali gave Smith the silent treatment and then after the punch had been thrown.
“The action got progressively rougher.” Unfortunately this is how many of the incidents started off. Deacon tell and describes many little stories about rink rage and how much of an issue it is becoming. He tells an incident at a peewee game where “hotheaded” fans were not pleased about penalty call on a player from Delhi, they
As the captain of his team, Feisty, was expected to be a good role-model for his fellow players. Mrs. Feisty, the young man’s mother, said “If the referee hadn’t provoked him, this wouldn’t have happened.” Feisty’s’ mother doesn’t seem too disappointed or ashamed at all, which considering what happened, it’s clear that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Feisty had claimed that he hasn’t been sent off the field since under 10s. This just proves that he has had some anger management issues since he was quite young.
Violence plays a big role, starting with the bank robbery. Ed will and did face a lot of violence from Edgar street, the rose brothers, the sledge match, Daryl and Keith, an as readers we are quite aware that all of these obstacles have shaped and changed Ed’s life mostly for the better. This is usually shown with Ed’s ease with violence, even when confronted by a
Eddie had been in a car accident when he was young and ever since has never been the same. Eddie shared his story with Neil as parents and players sat listening, then Neil shared his. When Neil was younger his father physically and mentally abused him, he was never allowed to tell anyone in fright something more would happen to him. While growing up he was married in his 20’s, had his first and only daughter. His wife not long after left him. He has witnessed one of his players die when they went to Colorado to play softball. She couldn’t breathe well after running and collapsed do to a heart attack. Now Neil lives in Connecticut married to his second wife that has many health problems and currently his daughter doesn’t speak to him too
Anna Bargman ’21 brought the ball down the field into the offensive end, passed it to Kelly McCarthy ’19 who launched the ball into the circle and set up a shot for Jo Caico ’19, who scored the team’s 5th goal against St. Mark’s School. Andover went on to win its game on Saturday 5-0. The season record now stands at 3-0, with just one goal scored against.
Ed feels guilty at the end of the game because he had knocked someone out and he
In Markus Zusak’s “I am the Messenger” Ed shows coming of age by going through experiences that have been usually seen as for adults. He grew up with drunk parents and usually gets cursed out by his own mother. He one day gets a card with 3 addresses on them. The first one is a man who is drunk and repeatedly abuses his wife. Ed keeps coming back every night, seeing this same event occur periodically. He does nothing but watch; he’s petrified to step in.
Concussions within Canadian teenagers is becoming an epidemic problem, with more High-School athletes becoming concussed then ever before. In 2016 alone over 500,000 teens were concussed which was recorded as the greatest amount in Canadian history. Within those 500,000 teens there was one girl from a small town who finished her last senior high-school soccer game with a bang. That girl was me.
However after witnessing a failed robbery he was faced with a number of playing cards each with different challenges. Each suit leaves a symbolic hint as to what challenges Ed may be faced with. After receiving the ace of clubs Ed is faced with the challenge of the Rose boys, in this challenge he is beaten up and put in quiet the state of which he learnt to ‘survive the clubs’. This is

As a result of the accident, Mr. Savino lost 80% of the vision in his right eye. Mr. Savino decided to file a negligence suit against Mr. Robertson. He alleged that Mr. Robertson violated the league rules by shooting the puck at the goal without a goalie being present in the goal and warning everyone that he was going to shoot the puck at the goal. Mr. Savino reported that this was an established rule for the Northbrook Men’s Summer League which is the league that their hockey team belonged to.
He was told to run a certina play and he did so his dad let him play longer. They were down by one point in a regular season game and his dad made up a play and he ran it wrong and they lost. His dad was very mad at him. Another game they were down by two and his dad told him to run a play he had saved for this moment. He ran it correctly and they missed the shot but his dad was not mad because he
This can be shown by, “Sure, he’s terrific! Look at him go!” and “He could be very good Marco. I’ll teach him again.” By praising Rodolfo, he is making Rodolfo want to continue boxing with him. Eddie shows more and more authority over Rodolfo and if they go boxing more, Eddie gets the opportunity to humiliate and embarrass Rodolfo more, and prove to everybody that he is stronger. The tension between the two characters is important, as it continues to grow stronger, until Eddie attacks Marco and Rodolfo. This is important, as this is the point where the tension is first revealed obviously and directly to the reader, through physical actions, although not real violence. The audience may feel that there will be real violence later on in the play, as Eddie keeps encouraging Rodolfo to fight and continuously tries to insult him.
