Although there are many recurring cancers through genes and natural behavior, lung cancer is one of the recurrent cancers that continue to grow; either it has to do with natural behavior or genetics. Lung cancer is a very common to be diagnosed with and harmful to anyone who is exposed to many resources around the world: smoking (first hand and second hand) and pollution. Any resource that is made up of chemicals that are exposed into the air that people breathe, give the risk of affecting others with lung cancer. Introduction: George is an 89 year old man which recently has been diagnosed with Metastatic Lung Cancer. Lung cancer itself accounts for killing an estimated 1.5 million people annually worldwide (Keshamouni, et.al, 2009). Lung cancer is divided into two major types: Non-small-cell cancer which includes these types of cancers; adenocarcinoma, squamous cell and large-cell, these all account to 80% of cases. The second major type is the Small-cell lung cancer which includes these cancers; oat cell, intermediate and combined, all of which only account to 20% of cases. The major causes of Lung cancer are these risk factors: tobacco smoke, air pollution, arsenic, asbestos, nickel and radon. Only 13% of patients survive 5 years after diagnosis (Williams, L, et.al, 2009). But Metastatic Lung Cancer is slightly different, the difference is the cancer originated in another area of the body, and then spread to the Lungs, causing Lung Cancer. This process begins with the cells breaking away from the main tumour or cancer and then travelling into the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream the cancer cells will attach themselves to a vessel which will then attach to a organ and majority of the time it is the lungs (Chang, E, et.al, 2010). Though there is no cure for Metastatic Lung cancer there are preventions such as avoiding things known to cause cancer such as smoking tobacco.

Our group's search began with a division of labor to more efficiently utilize our resources. The lung cancer topic was chosen due to the personal and societal impacts this disease produces. Finding balanced and accurate sources to build our case obviously and necessarily became an important priority. Additionally the topic of lung cancer is very broad and reaching, creating a problem of scope for this particular problem. It became evident that in order to find useful answers in this realm meant for us to ask useful questions. All the data and inference in the world does not assist the researcher unless it is applied in a formula that expresses the necessary dialogues reflecting the intent of those who are utilizing such information.
Your lungs are an organ that allows you to breathe in air and supply oxygen to the body’s tissues and removing waste. Normal cells in the lungs grow and divide to form new cells as they are needed. When normal cells grow old or get damaged, they die, and new cells take their place. Sometimes this process goes wrong and new cells form when the body does not need them. Old or damaged cells do not die as they should and a mutation in the cell’s DNA occurs. The mutated cell divides and passes along the abnormal gene to two new cells, which then divides into four cells with abnormal genes in each of their DNA. With each new mutation, the lung tissue cell becomes more mutated building up and forming a mass of tissue called a growth. These abnormal lung cells do not develop as they should; instead they begin to damage and destroy the healthy lung tissue that is present. Therefore they do not carry out the normal functions of the lung cells. These normal functions consist of taking in air, circulating oxygen throughout the body via the blood, and picking up and moving all waste gases back out of the body. Lung cancer cells can be caused by the normal aging process or through environmental factors.
