Before Charlie’s funeral in Paris, Lena and Aubrey don’t know each other. They don’t know that Charlie has been dating both of them at the same time. They are strangers. That all changes the moment they meet each other at Charlie's funeral. Charlie Presumed Dead is a young adult suspense thriller that takes you on a road trip all over the world to figure out whether or not Charlie is truly dead. I did not enjoy this book, but I desperately wanted to. It sounded interesting, I loved the cover, and the first chapter sucked me in - but it went downhill from there. I get that they have a reason to not really like or trust each other, since they were both dating Charlie. But I do like that they try to not blame each other for that fact, they both blame Charlie. Their decision to join together after just meeting nd hunt down answers about Charlie was a little rushed, but still an interesting concept. They both have different reasons for wanting to find out what happened. They both want answers and the truth. So, I wasn't really bothered by the fact that they instantly bond together to go hunt him down. The more Lena and Aubrey share with each other, the more bizarre the truth seems. Not only was Charlie dating them both and living a double life, but they each knew different versions of Charlie. Lena's Charlie likes one thing, but Aubrey's Charlie hates it. As they discover more of these inconsistencies, they become more and more convinced that Charlie is not dead at all...and they're determined to find him and get the answers they deserve. I did actually enjoy that aspect of the book, but it paled in comparison to the part I liked the most.
