On May 3, 1768 Charles Tennant was born from his parents John Tenant and Margaret McClure. He was born in Alloway in the United Kingdom. Charles Tennant was born with much intelligence and skill. Within the time of 1768 to 1788, his dad employed him to master of handloom weaver. Hand looming was a high paying job and involved traits he had. While having this job he realized the difficulty it was to beach clothes. In this day and age, bleaching clothes was done by stale urine and sending the clothes to bleaching fields and letting them sit there for months. This very long process inspired Charles to make bleaching powder. In 1788 Charles made his own bleaching field, and by 1799 had made chloride of lime. Chloride of lime is another term
