During the 1780s, I spoke out against the idea of expanding the power of the national government, I was viewed as the leader of the anti-federalists. In 1787, I was elected, along with John Lansing, Jr. and Alexander Hamilton to represent New York at the Philadelphia convention, the goal of this convention being to revise the Articles of Confederation. Both I and Lansing soon left the convention as we felt the real purpose of the convention was to produce a new form of government, not to revise the articles of confederation. Soon after this I wrote a letter to Governor Clinton, the governor of New York. In this letter I gave explicit reasons for my departure from the convention and informed him of my strong opposition to the constitution. I am most famous for writing many essays, under the pseudonym of Brutus, in which I argued federalist ideologies; I began each of my essays opposing these views by addressing these essays to the citizens of New

Political advocacy organizations have historically played a big part in securing political rights for minority groups in Western Liberal Democracies. Whether we look to the now infamous Boston Tea Party to the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, we observe the importance of political organizations in their quest to ensure equitable rights for the people whom they represent. In context of the early twentieth century, the most prominent group to represent African-American’s in the United States was that of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The NAACP, as it is more commonly called, was founded on February 12, 1909 by a mixed group of individuals including but not limited to Ida B. Wells, W. E. B. DuBois and Archibald Grimké with the goal of creating a civil rights organization that would help assist in organizing for civil rights for blacks. One of its most prominent members, Charles Hamilton Houston, who became a part of the organization around the mid-twentieth century, changed the trajectory of the organization for years to come. In 1894, a young, quietly colorful Charles Ives enters Yale University. He enters with a strong musical foundation provided by his father and community and a vision of what he thinks music can be. Horatio Parker, Ives’s composition professor unashamedly informs Ives that his vision of music seems blurry, perhaps even nauseating, to the astute, cultured musician. Ives quickly develops anger towards Parker’s traditional tutelage and rarely recognizes the positive effects Parker has on his compositions. Here begins the battle between new and old that Ives and Parker embarked upon during Ives’s college years, however the story starts and ends far from their four short years together.

Charlie Evan was born in New Orleans on July 1, 1985 to Lawrence and Isabella Dalca. At the time of Charlie's birth, the Dalca parents were having marital issues and Isabella was quite firm in her want to leave NOLA and return to New York where she herself had been raised and where her family still remained. It seemed as though she planned to take her newborn son and make the move, with or without her husband. Knowing it was a losing battle and not wanting his family to be torn apart, Lawrence reluctantly agreed to leave his own hometown and make the move for his wife and son. He sold his gym to a close relative and used the money to fund their move.
Robert Davis was an African American man. He was not a “thug,” he was not a “drunk,” he was a retired school teacher from New Orleans who was in his sixties. Three police officers were charged but only two went to trial. In the end, two of the police officers were fired — the third never made it to trial because he had committed suicide. Davis was compensated for the assault.

It came to be the son’s destiny to make artistic use of the father's musical experiments. When Charles began composing at around the age of thirteen, he was writing the type of pieces that he heard around Danbury all of his life such as marches, church songs, and fiddle tunes (The Man His Life, Swafford 2). By the age of fourteen, Charlie had become the youngest salaried church organist in Connecticut. With this musically opportune job, Ives wrote a lot of choral and organ music George was hopeful that someday he might even make a living as a concert pianist, but Charles had other plans. Although he enjoyed his music, he resented its consumption of his life, so he started rebelling like all other teens do and started playing sports as an escape (The Man His Life, Swafford 1).

To be a great composer does not necessarily mean that they have reached a vast amount of fame. However, it means that their compositions have ingenuity and value. The melodies they have cleverly created have reached a point of worthiness in the world of music. For it is the sweet harmonies a composer creates that defines who he is. One of these gifted composers was Frederic Chopin, born on February 22, 1810 in Zelazowa Wola, Poland.
