Which chapter was the easiest for you? Why?
Chapter 7: Right Triangles and Trigonometry was the easiest chapter for me because it made the most sense and it was pretty much just basic things that I could easily do with my graphing calculator. The SOHCAHTOA song really helped me learn what form of Trigonometry I need to use. SOH- Sine opposite hypotenuse, CAH- Cosine adjacent hypotenuse, and TOA- Tangent opposite adjacent.
When we got the Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, and Solving Right Triangles it got a little confusing but you help me understand what to do with the Law of Sines and Cosines and how to solve right triangles. The Law of Sines states that the relationship between the sides and angles of non-right (oblique) triangles. Simply,

What advice would you give to a student who is taking the class next year so that they are successful?
Some advice that I would give would be to pay attention in class, stay on topic, do your homework, talk to Mr. Cook when you are confused (He’s a great guy and teacher). I would also recommend showing up to class because if you don't you will most likely get lost or confused because you didn’t show up to class. I would also recommend doing you practice test because its almost identical to the test so if you so good on it you’ll do good on the normal test.
How has your opinion of math changed this year?
My opinion on math this year hasn’t changed that much except the I still love it but it is very hard to take two math classes at the same time. But it has actually help me in Geometry with taking Algebra 2 because some of the concepts we do in Algebra are the same on Geometry and some of the Trigonometric stuff we did in Geometry helped me with Algebra 2. I just wished that I paid more attention in class and asked more questions when I got confused in both of my math
Many college professors find it very important to have parents, students and current instructors aware of the expectations for the upcoming student. By informing students,
In Linda O’Brien’s, “How To Get Good Grades In College,” you will find a plethora of invaluable advice aimed at the novice college student, that if followed, will lead you to not only be a success as a college student but to get the most return on your investment in your future.
My advice to you spring semester students is to stay organized, know your due dates (never ever fall behind on work), and to make sure to keep up strong study habits, whether that’s rewriting notes, making notecards, or re-reading the chapters….KEEP UP WITH THE INFORMATION! And of course, go to class!! There is a lot of information packed into each chapter which makes this course into
In the movie, Remember the Titans desegregation did not come into action until 1971 because of Virginia’s Massive Resistance; Virginia did not desegregate until 17 years after the Brown decision was made. When the Brown decision was announced the white officials of Virginia resisted the new change and wanted to keep the segregated system in Virginia. In 1954, the political organization of Harry F. Byrd controlled the politics in Virginia. Byrd inforced the “Southern Manifesto,” which was opposing integrated schools; in 1956 more than one hundred Southern congressmen signed the Manifeso. On February 25, 1956 the Massive Resistance came to surface.
Conduct a self-evaluation and describe your own performance and approach to the class throughout the semester.
To identify a Special Right Triangle. The angle measure must be known first. If the given angle measure is 45°-45°-90° Special Right Triangle. Also if the given angle measure is a 30° or a 60°. Then the triangle is a 30°-60-°-90° Special Right Triangle
Right Triangle Trigonometry is the study of triangle measurements. When the Egyptians first used a sundial around 1500 B.C., they were using trigonometry (Burrill, Gail p 376). Trigonometric ratio is a ratio of the lengths of two sides of a right triangle. The three common ratios. They are sin, cosine, and tangent. They have abbreviations are sin, cos, and tan. The triangle shown to the left is a right triangle. Each side has a number because that is its side length. As we see there is a number 5. This side is called the hypotenuse. The hypotenuse is always the side the is directly across from the 90o angle. There is a number 3. This side is called adjacent. And there is also a number 4. This side is called opposite. There is an acronym
Furthermore, I realized that this semester was going to be particularly challenging because of the Pre-calculus and Calculus hybrid course I had enrolled in; math has not always been my best subject and taking a fast-tracked math course was sure to be disastrous. Nevertheless, I was determined to make A’s in all my classes. After the first week of classes, I could already feel myself becoming overwhelmed with the amount of work I had to do in such a short amount of time. Not to mention, how disappointed I felt in myself when I received my first quiz grade for my pre-calculus class, I had bombed the quiz terribly by making a 65.

I view learning as acquiring new lenses in which to better see and understand the world around me. While each subject in school has given me invaluable lessons and information throughout each year, I feel that no other subject has given me a lense so impactful and far-reaching than math. Understandably, the basic courses such as middle or high school algebra and geometry felt vague and abstract because then I was only learning math as a language but not its applications. However, when I moved on to calculus and statistics, math became a lens that could make things clear that I didn't even know were “blurry.” I found that everyday of calculus or statistics classes, I left with more questions than I had entered with. I began seeing my refrigerator
To my fellow college classmates, I'm going to set you guys up for college success. The very first thing to college success is showing up, you need drive and motivation to push yourself through college. Not all days will be stunning but if you’re going to make through college you will need have the desire to exceed. Next thing for college success is taking responsibilities for yourself, you need make sure that you have all component’s you need for yourself successful in your own system. Another thing for college success taking notes in class, not all classmates love this, but it will make you recognize important subjects that your class is trying to teach you. Great notes will make your class a lot easier for you exceed and working you get that
One thing I learned from this chapter that I would offer fellow classmates is Temperament. This is a big part of education because this deals with labeling students as good kids or bad kids due to their behavior. The problem with this is that teachers should not label their students because if u treat a student like they are bad they will believe that they are bad and won’t progress. I suggest to all future teachers that they treat their students the same without labeling. I believe that if you treat all them the same they will grow together.
Two tips that are most important to me are analytical thinking and effective communication. Analytical thinkers find importance in the smallest of things. It also pointed out, comparing new things to the old, I will apply this to this week and well as in the future. When I'm able to compare the new with the old, it helps me contain information better. Effective communication will be important for me, this week and going forward. I will start to apply effective communication by expressing my ideas as well as listening to the ideas of my classmates. I've learned that listening is an important key in communicating. Another tip that was pointed out was having a willingness and opportunity to learn (Bethel, 2013). I am open to any suggestions, criticism, and new ideas that are presented to
Towards the end of my last semester of my junior year, I was struggling to pass Algebra 2-Trig. I had failed one semester and I had to pass the final to be able to pass the class. Math has always been my academic weakness growing. I always was able to just enough to pass, so passing this final was a complete struggle. I had to do a rigorous cramming session of the weekend before I took that final. I studied for about 30 out of the 48 hours I had of the weekend. I gathered a bunch of notes and went over everything that was on my test. I watched many youtube videos on how to do the problems and drank a lot of coffee. I made a bunch of notes and when thru a lot of paper.
The College Algebra class thought me how to add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions which I had always had difficulty with. I have yet to master the skill, but because of Pre – Calculus I am receiving a lot of practice, which has helped me comprehend how to solve the math. College Algebra helped me understand that math is basically a puzzle that needs to be solved with steps, because of this understanding the math has become fun to solve. After solving a problem in class that my other classmates have
