1. In the Mystical Body of Christ, we are united intimately with Christ, the Head. Paul was aware of the radical change in his life. Under the aspect of the law, he was the controlling factor of his life, but after encountering Christ he gave that up for Christ and became dependent on him. Christ has replaced that self of Paul. By the same token, when we are alive with Christ, which means we cooperate with God's grace, we become members of Christ's Body, and are intimately united with him. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, “In that body the life of Christ is communicated to those who believe, and who, through the sacraments, are united in a hidden and real way to Christ in his Passion and glorification.” The sacraments instituted by Christ, therefore, will serve to bring members …show more content…
When the Church communicates with Christ, I do as well, because I am also a member of that body. As the guiding and protecting principle of the body, Christ leads and protects the Church on earth. Saint Dionysius suggested that analogously Christ is the head of the Church just as her “royal citadel”. All the members over whom it is placed for their good are naturally guided by the head as being endowed with superior powers. Christ, as Mystici Corporis reflects, “holds the helm of the universal Christian community and directs its course.” All the members of his Church therefore are called to move together with his guidance and by his strength. Furthermore, as Mystici Corporis goes on reflecting, “Christ also provides for our growth. He makes us grow towards Him because He is our head. He provides gifts and assistance to His Body, His Church, so we help one another along the way to salvation.” It is through Him that the supernatural gifts have their fullness and perfection and it is of

In the first close reading of the text, I discovered Paul articulated his desire for all believers to be of the same attitude or frame of mind as Christ. Creating a sense of relationship with God through the example of the servanthood of Jesus. This study revealed the traits of Christ’s life and character found in verses: “he was formed of God” (2:6), “emptied himself’ (2:7), “in human form” (2:8), “name above every name” (2:9), “every knee should bend” (2:10), and “every tongue confess … glory to God” (2:11). Looking at each verse, challenged me to read between the lines and wonder what might be happening within the church of Philippi. Textual Criticism
If the $17,000 spent to purchase inventory could be invested and earn interest of $1,000, then the opportunity cost of holding inventory is $17,000.
The church in Rome, once so prone to lose sight of their high calling in Christ, had developed strength of Christ character. Their words and acts revealed the transforming power of the grace of God. With clearness and power Paul presents the doctrine of justification by Faith in Christ alone. Paul heart’s desire and prayer for his people the Jews were that they might be saved he now sets forth the great principle of the gospel that salvation is only through faith in Christ as Jesus says “if you love me keep my commandments”. Therefore it is not by works that we are saved nor by relations or titles nor anything but only through Christ who is the “Way the Truth and the Life”.
Lexy Mason Period 4 Chapter 7 Questions: 1) Distinguish between weather and climate. Summarize how air temperature, high pressure air masses and low pressure air masses affect weather. Chapter six explained and identified the types of traditional literature. Our traditional literary heritage drives our children to the very old history, which included religious tales, stories from different cultures about so many different mythical heroes and stories about real people who were brave and known for doing something great at that time. The types of traditional literature are folktales like cumulative tales, humorous tales, beast tales, magic and wonder tales, pourquoi tales, and realistic tales. The other types are fables, myths, and legends. Folktales are fictional narrative stories that may or may not ever happened in our history.
Chapter 5 Objectives Define birth rate, death rate, immigration, and emigration. Write an equation that mathematically describes the relationship between these rates and the rate of population change. Birth rate: the amount of births live Death rate: the amount of deaths live Immigration: moving to live in a foreign country Emigration: leaving your country, to live in another Population Change = (births + immigration) -
• Be concise and clear • Writing should be purposeful – to convey information and solve problems • Writing should be economical – clear and concise ideas • Writing should be audience oriented – looking at a situation from the audience’s perspective • Prewriting – analyze audience, anticipate how the audience will react, adapt message and tone to audience • Drafting – researching, organizing, and drafting the message • Revising – editing, proofreading, and evaluating if message accomplishes your purpose • Think of primary and secondary audiences – who the message is being sent to and who might see the message in addition to primary audience • Choose appropriate channel based on audience and type of message • Focus on the audience’s benefits
For Paul’s audience the apostles, the prophets, the evangelist, the pastors and teachers governed the structure of the church. These individuals equipped the Saints for works of service and the edification of the church. His audience would have understood the metaphor that Paul was implementing throughout the passage. They understood that the body of Christ meant the church; and that infancy was equated to their spiritual status.
It is here where I find Paul’s incarnational theology most profound in that he emphasizes Christ’s identification with us while still maintaining differentiation, which makes it possible for humanity’s transformation. Moreover, we get the sense that Jesus does not only identify with a sinful humanity but heals, transforms, and creates something entirely new in his likeness. This last point is the most significant and ought not to be overlooked. In that, to bring forth transformation, Jesus deeply ingrains himself in a particular historical context, while still retaining his divine authority as the Son of God. In the Gospel of John, it is revealed that Jesus becomes the place for God to be with God’s people.
CHAPTER 2 Legal and Policy Consideration In most of countries, there are some laws and regulations maintaining aspect of virginity, conception, the pregnancy itself and the legal and illegal means of ending a pregnancy. There have extensive geographical and geopolitical variations in the ethical and the legal attitudes of different countries and religions to each of above aspects. Maternal mortality is one of a result of illegal abortion. The non- availability of the legal abortion is main reason to the illegal or unsafe abortion.
We need to take a serious look at ourselves and understand what has taken place after we gave our lives to Jesus Christ. Only then will we be able to know who God says we are. - The Apostle Paul wrote to the young church of Corinth reminding them of who they were. In the context of this verse, he addressed many of the problems of the Corinthian church while constantly reminding them of who they have become.
Furthermore, when the financial aspect of the church is run by Christ centered individuals, Christ is in the center, and he has the power over all and
Pius XII considers this personal experience of St. Paul, his life in union with Christ, as being applicable to the life of all believers, that is, to the whole “Mystical Body”, the Church, having Christ as her Head and the Holy Spirit as her Soul. For it is by her Founder, the Head, through the Holy Spirit, that the Church is living. Then, it is by virtue of the habitation of the Holy Spirit in Christian souls that the intimate union with Christ is made possible in a supernatural and mysterious way. Therefore, “the Church, then, no less than each of her holy members can make this great saying of the Apostle her own: And I live, now not I; but Christ lives in me." Pius XII considers this intimate union with Christ, however, as a priceless privilege of which Christians are granted. The union with Christ is such vital and concrete that is can biblically “compared to the chaste union of man and wife,” said the Pope, and “to the vital union of branch
