I know the biggest discussion when you are about to get a new pet is; am I a cat person or dog person? I’m about to solve your confusion. 62% of United States homes have at least one pet. Overall, homes that claim to have pets 78 million of them are dogs and 86 million are cats. These numbers are misleading, according to a survey in the Reader’s Digest 41% identified that they were cat people where as 74% were dog people (Reader’s Digest). My sister is a major dog person she can’t live without them some days. Her latest addition to the family is a Vizsla puppy named toby. According to her the nick name of this breed is a Velcro dog, it’s loyal to a fault and whimpers at the sight of you walking away. Then my mom would never admit it but I …show more content…
More facts about cat people are that they are more likely to live in an apartment, as well as to live alone with the exception of cats (Reader’s Digest). However, that does not mean there is an overabundance of cats in said apartment. Dog personality based people are more of a social breed. These types on average are more likely to be men. This is not much of a surprise since dogs are usually referred to as “man’s best friend.” Their personalities center on being conservative and extroverted (Reader’s Digest). As such, they hold to tradition and are an outgoing, overtly expressive person. Within social gatherings, they move around a lot usually seeking attention or people to talk to. Their sense of humor tends to be drawn to slapstick humor. Slapstick is a type of broad physical comedy involving boisterous, violent activities which may exceed the boundaries of common sense. The home life of a dog person usually resides within rural areas, and are most often married with a family. There is always the chance that someone could prefer both cats and dogs. This fact is supported by people who have both, but are more likely to think in the same fashion of a dog person. In this case you are also likely to talk to your animals, possibly have a four year degree and even dislike animal-print clothing. I know those sound a little nuts but I have to admit when you need someone to talk to cats are great. I am working on that four year
Dogs can be good for people who are adventurous and outgoing. On the other hand, they are not good for busy people, or people with jobs. Dogs have to get their energy out for them to be calm and collected if they are inside dogs. If the dog is not an outside dog, then they have to run outside and get exercise everyday. If a dog does not get their energy out they will most likely tear things up in the house or run around
and self sufficient? It is undeniable that cats are way better than dogs. Cats can lick themselves clean, and they make little to no messes whereas dogs slobber everywhere and need to be given a bath. Dogs also take forever to train and have a shorter life expectancy than cats while cats take less time to train and will be around longer. Wouldn’t you rather spend less time training your animal and have more time with them? Not to mention, dogs can be a pain to take on walks, but cats use the litter box without any assistance. Dogs are also a lot louder than cats and definitely more frightening. More people are scared of stray dogs than of stray cats. Do you really want a dog that will be loud and obnoxious and scare off your guests? With all these reasons it’s hard to deny that cats are tremendously better than dogs.
But since yearly cat ownership is cheaper than dog ownership (ASPCA), many people choose to have a couple of cats, so the pets can provide companionship to each other when the owner is not at home.
Their are many dog and cat people but you should get a dog. There are many reasons why you should get dog then a cat. Dogs can help you stay fit. They help you make new friends. My last reason is that they can be service dogs.
They are also terribly ungrateful, showing no thankfulness whatsoever if they are given special treatment of some sort. They just generally assume that any special treatment is nothing more than what they deserve. Cats are overly independent as well, and enjoy pretending that they don’t need you or anyone else. Cats should definitely not be considered your best friend.
While researchers aren’t sure why, cat owners are less likely to have a stroke than those who don’t own one. When you consider that cats lower stress, blood pressure and cholesterol, it’s easy to see why we’re less prone to
Owning an animal can take up a lot of time. For most people time is of the essence, and spending a lot of time on an animal is unrealistic . Cats are able to live without their owners for days on end. They can usually find something to eat, and pee if plants for example. But dogs need to be put in kennels and looked after by another person. Dogs also have to be put on leashes when they are outside. Cats have the ability to roam freely because their owners do not have to worry about them causing a lot of trouble. A cat is allowed to be outside until late hours because owners know that the feline will make its way home, where as a dog at night is usually brought inside, or chained up outside.
There are between 45 to 55 million dogs per household in America (American Humane Association 2012). Furthermore, according to a national survey, the majority of dog owners chose to get a dog for the companionship as the major reason for having a dog (American Animal Hospital Association, 2004). After all, dogs are nonjudgmental, give unconditional love, can be trusted with our most intimate feelings and emotions, and are highly intelligent. These dog characteristics can significantly enhance the lives of thousands of youth and adults, especially those with disabilities and/or those who live in continuing care facilities. There are approximately 20,000 service dogs in the U.S., which includes 10,000 guide dogs (American Humane Association 2012)
A person is thinking of getting a pet to be his companion and to entertain his kids, but he has encountered a predicament: they choose a mediocre feline or a magnificent canine. While there are many advantages of each option, the dog is a better option for companionship, protection, and loyalty.
While dogs and cats are a lot alike, you have to consider their differences before you choose your pet. As mentioned before cats do not require cleaning nor exercising or training, while dogs are in need of all these things. If you want to raise a pet then, try to manage your time before you choose your best
The musical “Cats” is an outstanding show that captivates audiences of all ages. It is based on a book of poems called, “Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats”, written by T.S. Eliot. “Cats” tells a nonsense story of different cats. The amazing music, unique costumes, and intricate dance choreography bring a breath-taking story to life that a leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.
People can either be a cat person or a dog person. Cats and dogs are unique creatures yet they are the two most common household animals. I am definitely a dog person. I love dogs. I think everyone should have a dog. They’re great pets. Dogs are fun and a lot of work but it sure is worth it. Cats, on the other hand, I don’t care for. I had a cat when I was only about one year old and she got run over by a car. Ever since then my family has had a dog. Maybe if I had a cat when I was growing up I would like them more.
Having a pet is a wonderful idea. Pets bring companionship, personality, and gut wrenching humor to households across the world. Having previously owned both a cat and a dog, and currently being without a pet, I began to think about getting a new furry friend. Born a dog lover, and bred into a cat lover, I had the difficult decision of choosing one of the two.
Pets are loved by everyone for many reasons; no matter what breed of animal you own, they can bring happiness to your lives. However, when you are thinking of getting a pet for the first time, whether it is as a new addition to your current family of pets or a replacement for one that sadly is no longer amongst you, there is a lot to consider when keeping a pet.
On the other hand, there are some great differences between cats and dogs. The first difference that can be easy to notice is that dogs are pack animal and cats are more of lone. As a pack animal, dogs like a social and gregarious life. They love company; they will never feel bored if one spends a lot of time with them. They do not like being isolated out of community; generally, they like to follow their owner to wherever. In contrast, a cat is a solitary creature, hunting alone. Cat loves to spend lots of time alone, like sleeping in the warm sunlight by itself, solitary wail, and so on.
