Doyle on April 7, 2016 we discussed protective custody and how we do not have authority to tell a facility that the RA cannot leave unless and that we are going for guardianship without first speaking with OGC.
The Center for Human Development, Inc. in La Grande, Oregon, the location which serves as the WIC office for Union County, has set out to rectify this issue. There have been many questions asked when considering the downward trend of WIC participation for those eligible. Union County WIC coordinators decided that researching this issue might help answer some of these questions, as well as present ideas that might be useful for the future. The questions asked by the Union County WIC coordinators were written down by a public health intern and then formatted into a questionnaire that could be passed out to other WIC clinics throughout the state. The questionnaire was intended to assess other WIC clinics to see how they operate, as well as learn information about the different aspects of their practices that might help the Union County WIC increase utilization and maintenance.

AAs have a 77% higher risk than most other ethnic groups, and are almost more than twice as likely to be hospitalized from diabetes and ultimately succumb to the diabetic complications (Chow). Many of these numbers are predominately made up of men and leads to the AAWs to being a highly understudied group. The AAW group is known to have high rates of obesity, chronic health conditions that have been exacerbated by weight (i.e. DM, CVD, and some forms of cancer), along with poor health and dietary behaviors. Many researchers have found that the increase in abdominal obesity has been closely associated with increased cardiovascular risk (Laffin). CVD is still one of the leading causes of death within the AAW group, and despite a downward trend of CVD related death in the United States, the AAW group still sees it as the leading cause of death with the highest mortality rates (Hill). Many associate this disparity among AAW with a serious lack of education in the socio-economic aspect of life in the AA community. Several groups have studied the how educating the AAW community about pre-diabetic, diabetic, and nutritional health impacts the likelihood of disease development though numerous community interventions.
In order to understand ICWA, social workers must understand the historical maltreatment of Indian children. Unfortunately, not all CWS social workers understand the historical oppression that the Indian Children have suffered. School/University in social worker often do not teach about ICWA. For example, in Fresno State, the CWS classes which has an ICWA component, is only offered as an elective class. In Tulare County, ICWA classes are taught in the Core Training, however, the content is brief (Tulare County). The lack of historical background of the social oppression, social workers will not understand the client’s perspective. For example, it is important to know that Indian children were forced into assimilate into a “White” culture.

You are working in the internal medicine clinic of a large teaching hospital. Today your first patient is 70-year-old J.M, a man who has been coming to the clinic for several years for management of CAD and HTN. A cardiac catheterization done a year ago showed 50% stenosis of the circumflex coronary artery. He has had episodes of dizziness for the past 6 months and orthostatic hypotension, shoulder discomfort, and decreased exercise tolerance for the past 2 months. On his last clinic visit 3 weeks ago, a CXR showed cardiomegaly and a 12-lead ECG showed sinus tachycardia with left bundle branch block. You review his morning blood work and initial assessment.
I decided for this week to learn more about the other agencies that are connected to Cherry health. I decided to contact and look up the different services that offered at Cherry Health to familiarize myself with the trends and relevant services that are offered for patients. I decided to compare these differences in services to Heart of the City (HOTC) and share with my individual supervisor what I noticed through my research. What I learned through my discovery is that HOTC could benefit from a WIC office. The agency does have a pediatric department which assists mother but I think a WIC office will be benefit as well for mothers. The different places that do have a WIC office are Cherry Health Street and Westside clinic. I also think that Heart of the City could benefit from having
In order to figure out what challenges struggle Denny Brown; it is necessary to review his personal experiences briefly. First of all, Brown is the chief information officer of the company Pinnacle West (PWC), and its largest subsidiary is Arizona Public Service (APS). This company operated businesses about providing energy utility to public; APS also partly owned and operated the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Generating Station.
