Introduction
To choose the best suppliers for our various components, all existing suppliers are evaluated. Cost per item, accounts payable (A/P) terms, actual delivery time, average days late on delivery, and total ordered quantity are calculated and compared. Because on time delivery is vital to our daily operation, delivery time and average days late are considered the most important criteria. Based on this evaluation, suppliers recommended for each component are listed below.
Airframe fasteners * Primary supplier: Durrable Products
Providing the longest A/P term (45 days), Durrable Products’ shipments are 100% on time and charges the lowest price per item ($4.20) compared to the other two suppliers. Now only about 20% of

Their shipments are only 0.67 day late on average. Panel Decal Panel decal is now only supplied by one supplier, Manley Valve. This supplier offers $1.00 for each item and an A/P term of 30 days. Our record shows that their delivery takes 6 days, 1 day behind the schedule. I recommend increase the number of suppliers for panel decal so we can compare the price and delivery time, as well as lower the risk of stock out.

I am writing with regards to an online order I placed with your company on September 05, 2015. At the time of my purchase, I was guaranteed delivery by the 20th of September, 2015.
When a customer orders material one of the first questions they should be asked is “when do you need it”. Once that’s understood then we can strive to use customer service follow ups to ensure the date is hit (obviously, there needs to be negotiation on the date up front if the customer is unrealistic). Everyone needs to be held accountable to this expectation and it’s not an option to enter the date incorrectly.

As a result of this limitation, lead time for exceptionally large bulk orders is three to four weeks.

Performance cycles can be improved through the use of the 25 percent and 15 percent suppliers. The new suppliers would need to be reliable and punctual. Small deviations create large problems therefore, a higher premium for consistency would be well worth the extra expense in the long term.
What is the current Supplier’s lead time, warranties and any other monetary incentives and how does it compare to Marton’s bid proposal.
My recommendation is to go with Matron on a few conditions. I would like to have a pre-award meeting to go through the financials at their facility, examine whether they’re using high quality parts, if they will hire new employees as they get busier, or was there Exhibit #6 not accurate. I would also have to see what the penalty is for cancelling the contract with Dollard Plastics hoping that it’s not too expensive. If everything seemed accurate and in place at Marton, I would have to go with them and let the Source Selection Board know my decision. If everything wasn’t in line and I was uncomfortable with their financials, I would choose to go with DAS Composites for a five year term, and try to negotiate that the contract would start after the contract with Dollard was up.
lead-time of 12 weeks (it is now down to 5 weeks). To be able to keep cutting prices on
The use of foreign suppliers has caused a lengthy lead time I the supply chain, however the company is working to improve this and has successfully achieved some good results. There effectors have reduced the average time from placing a component order with a supplier to having those items available at the New Balance warehouses from 12 weeks to 9 weeks.
I normally try to find a local supplier as a backup for timely delivery. It 's important to have multiple backup suppliers.
