At hours on June 26, 2016, I, Cpl. Lessane, along with Deputy Wright, with the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, responded to 2863 Two Sister Ferry Road, in the county of Hampton, in regards to a disturbance incident. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant, Susan Wells, who stated a yellow aggressive lab, chased her and her husband while riding their bicycle on Two Sister Ferry Road. Deputies attempted to make contact with the dogs and its own, no contact was made.

Social workers face complex ethical issues in every aspect of their profession. This work is often ethically challenging because it involves direct contact and interaction with individuals who are vulnerable. There are many factors that influence our decision making especially when working with at risk youths, we often face challenges in wanting to take on certain roles to protect our clients. I: CM met with client to inquire about updates relating to his housing goals. CM noticed client had a black eye and some swelling on the right side of his face. CM questioned client on what had happen to him and how he got hurt. CM assess program’s logbook for incident report and consulted with the monitors to see if they knew anything relating to client’s well-being. In an effort to educate the client on safety and his well-being, CM explained to the client that is important that he he takes every precaution while using drugs and when confronted with violence. CM continued to assess for PTSD symptoms, substance abuse, and medication compliance.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics was established as a core value guide for Social Workers when providing services to clients or working with colleagues. The mission of a social worker is to enhance the wellbeing of people through an array of services. Because he feels he can not do well at school also his parents doesn’t understand him, he feels he can’t focus in class and easily got distracted when doing homework. Henry stated he always doing many tasks at the same time, but normally can’t finish them. And Henry also stated that he have difficuties when communicating with others, and he thinks is hard for him to keep listening

John, age three illustrates tremors and cries uncontrollable. John look as if he is not speaking as he should for his age. His vocabulary is very limited as if he is behind for his age. He is at this time not walking on the level that he should be. John lived with both of his biological parents. In addition, John has not had much structure in his life because he did not have many rules to abide by. Due to the lack of structure, John did not have a set routine of what time to go to bed and he could wonder the house freely. John’s father has had several job. In addition, John’s father also stays out late at night, selling drugs and manufacturing methamphetamines within the home. Even though John’s father sold drugs, there is no reports on him using drugs. In addition, manufacturing drugs in the home may have lead John to be exposed to drugs, which can have an effect on the child’s development. Due to Johns father’s actions, he was arrested leaving John not having a father figure in his life.

Social workers are faced with different dilemmas each and every day. It is a social workers job to be committed to their jobs and committed to their clients. Social workers are those people who are interested in helping people and helping to improve their lives. All help isn’t good help. Some of the things that social workers decide to do with their clients end up being unethical. As we explore the Jones case study, there are several different unethical decisions that were made. There are a few different dilemmas throughout the case study. Confidentiality, receiving gifts from clients and their family, social media, and also developing relationships (dual relationships). It important for social workers to have the resources such as the NASW and the standards of practice manual. The code gives us a set of values, principles, and standards to guide decision making and conduct when ethical issues arise.

She has a house and gets frequent visits from her children, kimberly (age 34), khloe (age 32), kourtney (36), Rob (age 29), Kendall (age 20), and Kylie (age 19).

Improving the lives of individuals is the objective of the social work profession. There is six values within National Association of Social work Code of Ethics (NASW): Service, Social Justice, Dignity, and Self-worth of the person, Importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. These values are for social workers and their work with the client(s). Regardless of one’s race, religious belief, sex or sexual orientation each value benefits all individuals. Social workers should always practice professional values. Clients suffer from when the social worker does not uphold values. Code of Ethics is established for all social workers to obey and follow them. In this this paper, I will discuss the how “Importance of Human Relationship” will be the easiest to uphold and how “Social Justice” will challenge me as a social worker working with future clients, community and organizations.
