In this report, I have identified the company, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd (which will be referred to as Samsung Electronics), a South Korean multinational company, currently headquartered in Suwon, South Korea (Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, n.d), for the Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Assignment. Samsung Electronics is the flagship division of the Samsung Group, a South Korean multinational corporation company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul.

There are many factors which will affect the cost, such as the length of routes, sequence of loading and unloading, the type of materials being shipped, fuel prices, and road tolls. With Geographic Information Systems, Samsung Electronics and its partners are able to plan the most profitable route to take, be it the combination of the shortest route, to reduce the consumption of fuel, and the safest route, to avoid damaged goods or lost shipments.
