In early May 2008, talk began between president of Flinder Valves, Bill Flinder and Tom Eliot, chairman and CEO of RSE about a possible acquisition of Flinder Valves by RSE. The industrial manufacturing industry had taken a hit due to rough economic times and the acquisition made sense. Both leaders were very concerned about the challenges and risks of the deal. Flinder was a company that engineered and manufactured specialty valves and heat exchangers. These products required extensive research and development and they were one of very few firms working in these types of applications. A bullk to FVC’s sales came from defense and aerospace applications. They were known for their

Types of Pipes: Although the pipes that make up your plumbing system may look similar, they are far from it. Each
The first pipelines were nothing special; they were short and sometimes made of wood. With their growing popularity into the 1860s, the quality control followed over the pipe manufacturing, switching from wrought iron to steal. (Pipeline 101, n.d.) Coming into the twenty-first century, the pipeline has still been playing a key role in the oil industry. Given, its importance to the oil industry it is important to understand how
Pipes are often found at underwater archaeological sites and can provide valuable information, regardless of their condition. Broken pipes can provide similar information to those found still fully intact based on key features, as long as they are still preserved enough to identify. Based on such key features, the origins of pipes can be traced back to their manufacturers, determining both where they came from and the time period during which they were made. Because of this, pipes can be used to help confirm the identity of a wrecked ship; pipes may be from the same country as the wreck and be used as evidence to support claims of the origin of the ship, or from a different country or region entirely, indicating some form of trade or

Crocs’ success is partially due to creating an effective value chain management system (Hoyd & Silverman, 2008). Value chain management is a dynamic process focusing on maximizing effectiveness along the entire sequence of operational activities (Handfield, 2011). In accomplishing this, Crocs refined its production, manufacturing, and delivery systems in many ways. Specifically, Crocs bought their resin supplier and engaged in technologically novel processes to create proprietary croslite® resins that are inexpensive to produce, odorless, and available in a variety of colors (Business Pundit, 2008). Likewise, they acquired and created compounding facilities to reduce supply chain inefficiencies and better control manufacturing of their product. Finally, Crocs improved their inventory processes by adding warehouse operations to each factory (Hoyd & Silverman, 2008).
This project is on building a pipe bench. Most people have no idea what this is. Well simply put it is a bench that is a combination of wood and metal piping. This way the bench has a sturdy frame and unique look. Most benches are either wood, or metal. These benches are set up for the best of both worlds. Most wooden benches just aren’t as durable as an iron/metal bench. Also lost is the comfort factor with most metal benches. The idea of a “pipe bench” is all around a great idea.
Destin Brass Products is a manufacturing company specialized in brass products started in Destin, Florida, 1984, running by Roland Guidry (president), Peggy Alford (controller), John Scott, (manufacturing manager) and Steve Abbott (sales and marketing manager). There are three major product lines: valves (24% of company revenue), pumps (55% of revenue) and flow controllers (21 of revenue). Recently, due to its competitors keeping reducing product price, Destin found it become difficult to match such low price with a profitability decline under the current cost system. A meeting was held among senior management aiming to find out some new strategies to keep Destin’s competitive position.
