Holt Renfrew- The company that was to become Holt Renfrew was founded as a hat shop in Quebec City, Canada, in 1837, by Irishman William Samuel Henderson. In 1849, William introduced furs into the business and three years later sold the shop to his brother John. In 1860, G.R. Renfrew became a partner to form Henderson, Renfrew & Co. After another change in partnership in 1867, John Holt joined the company that would officially become Holt Renfrew & Co. Ltd. in 1908. An administrative assistant might organize functions such as planning a fund raiser or collecting donations on top of office tasks such as answering phone calls, planning meetings, recruiting, and training new workers or volunteers, and computer work. For example, an administrative assistant at the Food Bank may work the front desk answering phones and inputting volunteer hours on the computer while organizing the canned food drive for the upcoming holidays.

Ronald Mcdoland House Charities (RMHC) has been running Since 1974 they have created created many programs that strengthen families that are going through difficult times. RMHC provides important resources and compassionate care to children and their families who are being served by leading hospitals worldwide.

The mission of our non-profit Cherubim & Seraphim is to provide a wide range of activities for children from ages five to eighteen. We work with young people from kindergarten to high school and can arrange pick-ups from all local public and private schools. Our staff is able to provide tutoring in all subjects across the curriculum and our academic offerings are aligned with all state standards.

Target has been giving to the community since 1946. They are growing a brighter future for their team members and the community. Targets community impact states that “Every time we build a new store, we bring our legacy of giving and service to the community around it through the local programs and partnerships we support.” I believe they have a lot of impact on the community and can show that they are a great company to be a part of. Target gives out education grants, and public safety grants, has a team member volunteer program, food donations, local support for United Way, etc.

I am very interested in becoming a part of Nordstrom’s team through its retail management internship. As I finish my junior year at the College of William and Mary, I am proud of my academic work, my positions in diverse organizations on campus, and my overall work experience. I believe that these experiences, paired with my creativity and work ethic, make me a great candidate for Nordstrom. This summer I will be able to contribute to Nordstrom’s commitment to providing customers with the best shopping experience.

CM went to the YWCA in Lawrence to meet with K and checked with her how was her night in her new placement . K went with the staff to buy a car seat for her by bay and few items from the Walmart and Market Basket . CM brought some cans from donation which Waltham office received before . Meet Jim and Charlie, our favorite father-son duo. The whole family has been volunteering with the MCC for many years, and Charlie is now a high school freshman. Today, he and his father served hot meals to Seattle's homeless and un-sheltered. It's spring break for Charlie, but he was still donated his time to those in need. Now that's a vacation well spent.

Another important recommendation that GPD should implement is one point seven. This recommendation calls for departments to track the level of trust in their communities. This is a step for enhancing the public image of the police. Jake Horowitz, senior associate at the Pew Charitable Trusts, article in the national institute of justice stated “Departments might also consider tracking the level of satisfaction through community surveys. This feedback could be used to design police training and intervention programs (Horowitz. 2007. Pg. 10).” The chief of police in Greensboro expressed a want to get to the root cause of the problem and tracking trust they could have a better grip on what is causing problems.

Lesley Boone once said, “We are a country that prides itself on power and wealth, yet there are millions of children who go hungry every day.” When people think of world issues, many do not consider America’s stand point on the ordeal. They are unable to fully comprehend the growing lack of jobs, poverty, hunger, poor health care, and meager education that takes place across the nation. American charity foundations are often eager to jump to the rescue of other countries, but what about the detrimental issues that occur and worsen here every day? In the past, the majority of organizations are predominantly directed at foreign countries; helping places such as Ethiopia, India, Somalia, etc. While here, poverty and debt are increasing by surmountable amounts. Charities for other regions are beneficial, but shouldn’t people here be first priority? The majority of problems have the potential to be easily fixed. What happens when we have nothing left to give? If the United States does not soon take this into consideration, it could be hazardous and irreversible to the American society. When considering where America’s charitable hands should go, many things need to be taken into consideration such as; charities outside of the U.S., should America put more effort into problems here, the increasing debt and poverty levels, and how benefits of focusing more here.
