Based on my analysis, both organizations do not have the capacity to manage change, however, out of the two, Middleboro Community Hospital is a little better. Both organizations are suffering from drastic leadership changes where people are either retiring or leaving. Having a strong leadership is the first step towards change management and both do not have that. MCH, however, has the support of its Board of Trustees due to their keen involvement in the operations of the hospital. The executive team meets with the President weekly and tours the hospital. Whereas, at Webster Hospital the team meets twice a month. MCH leadership and Board of Trustees are more involved and collaboratively work on the strategic plan. Webster Hospital is at OMC’s
There are various considerations that may affect hospital scores, it involves satisfaction and eduction in which are a very important aspect of nursing care. As a nurse, it is important to have positive outcomes. There is currently one hospital within a 5-mile radius of my current facility. The two hospitals that are in this comparison are Kingwood Medical Center and Memorial Hermann NE. My place of employment is MHNE. So, when compared to Kingwood Medical Center, Memorial Hermann NE scores slightly better in both categories. Kingwood Medical Center patient satisfaction was 70%, while Memorial Hermann was at 73% with state and the national average of 76% and 73%. Even though my facility MHNE is at the national average, it is still lower than
In the case of Darling verse the Charleston Community Memorial Hospital, Darling presented to the hospital’s emergency department with a broken leg. The hospital treated Darling’s leg with a cast and he was sent home to heel. The attending physician had put Darling’s cast on too tight and the circulation of his bottom leg was cut off. Because of this a portion of his leg had to be amputated.
Jones Regional Medical Center is a huge academic health center with 900 beds and are known for its research and teaching hospitals. Additionally, the IT staff at Jones supports 300 applications and 12,000 workstations. The center uses Technology Med (TechMed) for their admitting system. The system includes registration, inpatient charge, payment entry, master patient index, admission, hospital billing, and more. The TechMed system has been accessible since 1998; Jones is beginning to plan a replacement of this systems because of the fragility of the software (Wager, 2013).
Boston Medical Center is an medical center that has added the cost of social workers, psychiatric nurse practitioners and patient navigators on a trial basis. The reason for this investment is to help the medical center succeed in future value-based contracts, or as an accountable care organization, by allowing it to share in any savings that accrue from improving outcomes and reducing costs Klien, & Hostetter, 2014). In contrast, Greenleaf is a stand-along facility in the community of Valdosta, Ga., and enjoys a fairly symbiotic relationship with South Georgia Medical Center. Both Boston Medical Center and Greenleaf offer a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services for behavioral health. However, I would prefer Greenleaf because it

Tulsa Memorial Hospital (TMH) is one of the nine acute care hospitals that serves in the general population area. Historically, it has been highly profitable due to its well-appointed facilities, excellent medical staff, good-standing reputation for quality care and its ability to give individual attention for each of its patients. The hospital, in addition to its inpatient services, operates an emergency department and an urgent care center located two miles from the hospital across the street from a major shopping mall.
The Midhudson Regional Hospital has diversed employees. They are made up of individuals with different culture, gender, socio-economic and race. Jefferson County has been without local access to healthcare for decades. Over 10 years ago the county commissioners agreed that a local hospital is in the best interest of the people of Jefferson County and, therefore, began a fund to achieve this goal. As of today, the fund is worth $25 million, but to build and equip an adequately sized hospital, the county needs an additional $75 million. The commissioners appointed a committee to discuss the issue and determine the best plan of action going forward.
We are committed to giving our patients the highest level of care regardless of ability to pay.
Alamance Regional Medical Center employed Shakira Kea PRN for the past two years. I have worked personally with Shakira over a year, not only as a co-worker but as her supervising charge nurse. This department was saddened by the news that Shakira was leaving, but knows she will be an asset wherever she goes.
Maggie Gill started her career with Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in 2004 as the VP of managed care and finance. In 2005, she became MUMC's COO, and then in 2011, she was named CEO and president by the board of directors, once they realized that the ideal candidate for the position, one who had experience in both finance and operations, was already employed by the health care facility.
