Normally in East Asia, silk and porcelain were apart of the Chinese trading goods to parts of Europe, which we discussed in class. It’s a historical fiction because, let’s be real, there weren’t any flying Chinese people sword fighting in a bamboo forest nor on rooftops. Maybe some of the events were inaccurate because the director, Ang Lee, was Taiwanese or wasn’t so sure about the concept, so instead of hitting it straight on the nail, he decided to put some inaccuracy into the film. Also, I am not so sure if they did tea ceremonies in China like they did in Japan, but in one scene in the movie, you can see that Shu Lien purposely drops her tea while Jen catches it before it completely falls to the floor. Shu Lien then figures that Jen is the one who stole the Green Destiny. As mentioned in a lecture, we talked about Yin and Yang. I think that there could be some depictions of yin and yang inside the movie. Since the movie is mainly female-based, you could possibly see where I am coming from. Wen Zhenheng mentioned in his famous book Superfluous Things that “the price (of Luojie tea) is particularly high.” In the vignette titled “Record of travel to Dragon Spring,” Yuan Hongdao says, “Luojie leaves are quite coarse, and a catty of the real stuff can fetch more than 2,000 cash. It took me several years of searching before I finally got my hands a few ounces” Yuan’s statement not only provided us with the exact information about the prize, but also depicts an image that Luojie tea was not actually available in the market. Yuan’s description did not over-exaggerate what
Upon returning home, I googled if there are another places where I can enjoy Bun Cha. Although there are many Vietnamese restaurants here; however, I have been finding it difficult to have it here in Toronto unfortunately. The ingredients you need are quite simple, and the way you cook does not seem so hard, yet I still do not know why. After looking it up on the internet, in fact, Bun Cha is not available in other part of Vietnam, either; it is a special dish only you can enjoy in the Northern area of the country.
Due to differences in culture and perception between non-Chinese and Chinese Australia; Chatimes exotic flavors of its tea; may limit its appeal to non-Chinese Australians as these flavors may be considered too foreign and therefore unappealing. My devotion to bubble tea is just as tenacious as to the endeavours of the pathway in becoming a doctor. I moved to Twin Falls, Idaho when I was around two years old from New York for my parents’ new restaurant. Often, my family and I would go back and visit, but that was the only times where I would get authentic bubble tea. I prefer to only go to name brand stores such as, Kung Fu Tea, Chatime, Quickly, Coco, and Vivi Bubble Tea because from past experience from dreadful milk tea. UChicago is the place where I can be away from my family and still feel at home surrounded by my

‘As a result, expansion can proceed at a much faster pace than would otherwise be possible, enabling the franchisor to achieve increased market share whilst benefiting from economies of scale.’ (http://www.butterfield.co.za) Finally, franchisors can benefit from the cultural knowledge and know-how of local managers. This can be helpful in lowering the risk of business failure in unfamiliar markets, as well as creating a competitive advantage.
