Case Study: Deputy Ragsdale Scandal

On August 24, 2015 at approximately 6:40 pm. Officer responded to shots fird complaint in the North Mclemore and Lark Street area. Officer loacated two subjects that had been shot and two otheer subjects uninjured.One subject (Cedrick Person) had been fatally wounded from multiple gun shots. The other injured subject was his son (Marquis Person) had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound in the shoulder area. The shooting stemed from an altercation that occurred earilier that same day. After further investigationg the case, investigaters learned that Lakendrick Deberry was possibly the shooter in this incident. Arrest warrats were issued for Lakendrick Deberry for !st Degree Homicide, Attempted !st Degree Homicide and possessing a firearm

Terrance Bowens contacted the Pasco Sheriff`s Office in person and via telephone several times in early November 2015, reference to a petit theft of two checks stolen out of his checkbook and uttering of forged instruments. He was advised what documentation was needed to initiate a report. On 11/17/2015, I received the documentation needed to initiate a report.

On January 17, 2016, Ms. Tellez, was driving his respective vehicle on Watson, my client was traveling southbound on Watson Rd., near Abram Street, in Tarrant County, Texas.

On 10/28/12 at approximately 1330 hours, Deputy J. Berner and I (Deputy M. Young) was dispatched to 2712 Dwight Road in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, I met with, Mrs. Tiffany Howell (complainant).

Deputy Strange is responding and investigating calls for service on his own, without the assistance of his FTO.

On August 14, 2015, at approximately 12:19 PM I, Deputy Ragsdale was dispatched to 2034 County Road 1570, Alba, Texas in reference to a inquest.

On July 27, 2015, at approximately 10:54 AM I, Deputy Ragsdale, was advised by dispatched to contact the complainant, Randy Clay, by phone in reference to a theft.

On May 4, 2017 at approximately 9:34PM I, Deputy George along with Sergeant Kincaid were in the process of conducting an investigation regarding a possible disturbance in front of the address of 398 County Road 4249, Como, Texas 75432.

Mr. Howard, I can't tell you the level of disappointment I have with your organization. This ordeal is taking for ever and causing tension between the roof company our family; I have been speaking about this check with you guys for almost three weeks. I have phoned four times and the conversations sound like no one has any idea of what's going on, and to add with an additional disrespectful attitude. I received your previous email telling us that the only document needed by your office since the repair had been done was the signed and notarized affidavit. This document was express mailed to your office by the Roofing company.

On Sunday December 11, 2016 at approximately 9:31AM I, Deputy George checked en route to 1413, Holly Trail East, Hawkins, Texas 75765 in reference to a reported burglary.

I, Deputy Cooper along with Sgt. South at approximately 9:30a.m. on 01/06/2017 was dispatched to a burglary at 239 County Road 4589 Winnsboro, Texas 75494.

[A] Absolutely, the reasonable suspicion of Deputy Sanderson was sufficient enough to expand a lawful traffic stop regarding the burnout headlight of the defendant’s vehicle. When Deputy Sanderson approached the Petitioner Mr. Haverford, it was completely a different story. By observing the defendant himself, Deputy Sanderson suspected that the defendant was under the influence of some kind of drugs. The reason why is because the defendant was extremely nervous. It is understandable to be nervous when to pull over by an officer but in this case it was not. The way the hands of the defendant were shaking is one clue. Plus the defendant upper body was shaking abnormally, clue number two. And finally, Deputy Sanderson took a good look at the defendant eyes and he realized the eyes were restricted [page 4], clue number three.

On 10/31/2015 at 20:34 hours, I was dispatched to an unwanted person at 520 College Blvd. I responded at emergent speed, lights, and sirens. While enroute, County Dispatch advised that the accused on location was threatening his parents and holding warrants for his arrest.
