Julie Gurnick is a broadcasting major at Point Park University from Jeannette, commuting an hour to campus each day. Roodelyne Pierrelus is currently a student at Miami Dade Honors College where she is majoring in Biology. Her eagerness to become a Family Physician has kept her motivated and inquisitive because it is her goal in life to help others in any way possible. CM spoke to Indhira Reyes (DCP&P) in regards to services for Destiny (youth). CM and Ms. Reyes discussed Destiny’s upcoming intake appointment with Project Safe. Ms. Reyes inquired about the Big Brother and Big Sister intake appointment, CM explained to Ms. Reyes that Destiny has to wait 3 months for a Big Sister. CM informed Ms. Reyes that the next CFT/ final transition meeting for Destiny is on 12/8/16 at 4:00pm. Interesting post, I must concur that this is the preferred way to give shift report because you can see exactly what is going on with the patient. You can also do your minor assessment while you take the report. Do you know how many times that IV medication ran out and that off-duty nurse do not have the courtesy to even call for a replacement. I am always on top of my work. The only thing, I do not like taking report from some nurses who keep their patients room as if there was an explosion. You know what I mean; I have to spend time cleaning up their mess, before I can start my work. And it is a deliberate pattern with some nurses.

I agree with the decision you made and explaining the situation to grandmother is really helpful because I have heard of people asking help just for the day and it ran much longer so explaining that it will be 5 days will not surprise her and I believe she will appreciate the honesty because being away 5 days you would require someone to live-in your house so having grandmother to stay is a blessing. To not worry if the kids are being mistreated or if the sick baby is being properly taken care of. Which would allow the mother to be able to put forth all the effort needed to complete her work assignment without worrying about her family.
