Tracee Cameron, Aggrieved Party (AP) believes she was discriminated against based on Disability (Mental ) and Reprisal by Florence Long, Chief of Social Work when after AP had been off of work for over a year on medical leave. She met with Ms. Long on 11/8/2016 and had a meeting with Ms. Long and Sarah Moreau; Reasonable Accommodation Specialist, about returning to work. The AP provided a doctor notes that stated she could return to work under a new supervisor and starting on part time position. During the meeting Ms. Long, reported that there are no part time positions available and she would not assign the AP to another supervisor. I called the constituent, she asked how can she file a grievance against a CW caseworker that is no longer working for the DHS. She said that Karl Kikman, who was the CW CPS caseworker had told her back in June, that if she cooperates with CW and let him get in her house, this CW case will have a UNFOUNDED disposition, but he lied, after she fully cooperated with him, the case has been coded as a FOUNDED.
On 7/11/2015, CM did a visual and had client come to the social service office. CM completed Bi-Weekly ILP Review. In the meeting client appears to be wear out, and tired. She was constantly throbbing her forehead, like if she was having headache. CM inquires what the problem is. Client replies “she doesn’t like the shelter food and sometimes she doesn’t eat” CM advised the client to eat and nourished her body. CM also observed that client is depressed but she continues to refuse medical referral to see a psychiatrist and medical doctor. Client continues to mention her son who is in foster care, and the physical altercation she sustained many months ago here at this shelter. RESOURCE UPDATE: Client continues to report last week she went to Center 37 and she was told that her Center is now 066. Client was upset that she was transfer to another shelter. As per the client she will lose her Linc V if she is transferred to Center 66. CM tries to explain to the client HRA transfer many clients because Center 37 is overcrowded. Client reported she requested for her case to be closed. Client continues to report she spoke with HRA Rep Ms. Perez who requested for the client to put her request in writing. On Tuesday July 7, 2015, at approximately 3:01 PM, Kiana Beekman, (MFCU Investigator) (Beekman) received a call on the state office telephone from HILL, Lucy (Service Facilitator of Lucy Hill Services (LHS). During the conversation, Beekman asked HILL to clarify her role and responsibilities as a service facilitator, in addition to the role and responsibilities of HARRIS, LaFrance as the Employer of Records (EOR) for Medicaid Recipient DANIEL, Rose and MCGHEE, Inocencia as DANIEL’s aide. She was also asked to provide any documentation of training on timesheet submission and approvals that she provided HARRIS and MCGHEE under the Department of Medicaid Services (DMAS) Consumer-Directed care aide program.

I will address the client as Marybeth which is a fictitious name. Marybeth is a single, white female, age 37, divorced and presently unemployed. She was receiving disability for the last 10 years until recently when her benefits was discontinued. Marybeth was raised in one of Cleveland suburbs where racism was well-known against African-American people. However, Marybeth do not agree with this racism against African-American people. She says, she don’t like white people. She dropped out of high school at the age of 16 because she was pregnant. About five years ago, she received her G.E.D. that afforded her to attend community college for one year.
Reporting party (RP) stated that she wishes to remain anonymous and is a social worker. RP overheard staff Patricia Salvo stated that there is not enough food to give the residents. RP stated that the staff and residents are afraid of the caregivers (Emma, Aziza and Lara). RP stated that staff is afraid to tell Emma that there is not enough food for the residents for fear of retaliation. RP stated that resident Fernanda and Cheryl are too afraid of Emma to file a complain on their own. RP stated that staff yell at the residents and tell them, "If you don't like it you can leave." Joanna Gualtieri was assigned to a new position with no official title or job. She couldn’t join any important meeting or updated projects. In November 1997, Gualtieri wrote to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of her findings. But the response came instead from the Department of Justice, claiming her accusations had no merit, and threatening her with a lawsuit if she did not retract her comments (Voice-voix, 2015). Harassment in the work place is also a medical threat to her body. Mental problem never stopped to impact her work and daily life.
I am writing in reply to the query you sent about a client named May Baloch who applied for a job as a counsellor at the local women’s centre. She was well qualified for the job, but at the interview the manager said they were looking for someone from Pakistan. She did eventually find a job two weeks later, which paid the same salary. However, she feels upset that she didn’t get the job and that there could be a claim against the women’s centre (WC).
