Songwriting brings a platform to all who are involved. The platform is not what defines a certain person, but what they can do with it. Carrie Underwood has used her platform to show people the true source of her success and happiness. Carrie relies on God and has a variety of quotes and songs that show exactly how strong her faith is. Carrie Underwood is the person that many people look up to because of her strong faith on such a big platform.
Biography
Carrie Marie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. When her career first started and she released songs that had links with God and her faith many people told her she was being risky in the business. Carrie saw it as a great opportunity though and the best thing she could be doing. Carrie Underwood has continued to release songs who showcase her magnificent connection with God. She is not afraid to show what she thinks through songs and that bravery connects with many of her fans. In the song, “Something in the Water”, Carrie brings out elements like conversion and baptism. Many atheists attacked her and told her that she could not make a career out of this is in the country business. She has proved those people wrong by just having continued success. “Something in the Water” reached number one on the billboard chart and stayed up at the top for a very long time. Carrie has become the voice for many people who do not have such a big platform to speak their truth or even for people who would be too afraid to speak out. Carrie has so many people praising her success and yet many of them never even take a look at what her songs mean. Carrie’s platform allows her to reach the people who are not involved in a religious community and with this platform she has created haters and enemies. Most importantly, Underwood has created a mass of fans who connect with her faith and with every song that has a link to God
