Caesar Rodney, the first of the delegation from Delaware, was a native of that state, and was born about the year 1730. His birth-place was Dover. The family, from which he was descended, was of ancient date, and is honorably spoken of in the history of early times. We read of Sir Walter De Rodeney, of Sir George De Rodeney, and Sir Henry De Rodeney, with several others of the same name, even earlier than the year 1234. Sir Richard De Rodeney accompanied the gallant Richard Coeur de Lion in his crusade to the Holy Land, where he fell, while fighting at the siege of Acre.
Thomasville, NC - After the 20 year restoration of Thomasville, it’s all finally coming together. The people of Thomasville have taken pride in rebuilding not only their own lives, but also those of generations to follow. The mayor, Rick Gordon, has literally reconstructed this town with the help of his wife, son, daughter, and adopted son. Thomasville was originally founded by Rick and his family and was open to all who needed help and a safe sanctuary. Thomasville, along with nearly every city in the world was destroyed when the nuclear bomb hit in 2467. Thomasville’s population is at 249 people as of the census that was taken a year ago. Men are expected to be the defenders of the town and go out and hunt for food. The women of the town

The East coast originally known as the thirteen colonies, but what did it take to settle the East coast and later on America? Great Britain wanted to take the new land by storm and the king was determined to make money off of the lands natural resources. Unfortunately the geography of the land made it hard to settle Charles Town, its many rivers, rigid mountains, and thick swamps made it nearly impossible to explore this land. This land was described as “flat and woody” making it easy to get lost but That wasn't enough to stop explorers from coming and taking over South Carolina, there first settlement was in Charles Town, the land they had first set foot on. Then they built their first colonies where they would face more problems and make new enemies.

Before the 1880s, the are of eastern Brooklyn that was to become Brownsville was known as New Lots. This territory was primarily farmland, but it was also the location of the city’s largest waste dump, as well as the site of several facilities that supplied stone and other building materials. In its early history, New Lots had a diverse population. English and Irish settlers, Jewish immigrants, and a small number of African-Americans farmed the land. Others were attracted to the area by the open space and relatively fresh fresh air it provided. Brownsville at one time was a place for waste-disposal, a tenement slum, a haven for Jews before they were accepted, the cradle of a major crime origination, a testing-ground for public-housing and
In recent years, there have been many cases of the rich “getting away with murder.” One example that I absolutely love is, Ethan Couch. All at the age of 16, Ethan Couch was driving under the influence of stolen beer cases. When he killed 4 people and injured 9 people all together. Couch was then indicted with 4 charges of intoxicated manslaughter, but the judge only gave him 10 years of probation. Since it was argued that he had “affluenza.” Affluenza’s dictionary definition is “a psychological malaise supposedly affecting wealthy young people, symptoms of which include a lack of motivation, feelings of guilt, and a sense of isolation.” This basically gave him a get out jail free card, since his parents were too rich to teach him to be a
At Brewton-Parker College, the campuses community is quite small. I cannot decide if it is a good thing that everyone knows each other. Because the school’s population is not quite as high as a big university, everyone knows everyone’s business. No matter what someone does, good or bad, it gets out, but for me the size in beneficial. The less people there are, the less chance I have of getting distracted. I love how small the classes are, too, because my teachers actually knows who I am. Also, when I need help with what we’re learning or I just have a simple question, I can easily ask my teacher, and he or she can help me better understand what is going on. The teachers here, at Brewton-Parker College, are kind and beyond willing to help me, no matter how long it takes; help is always there when I need it. For instance, the library has become my best friend. I like how I can go and have my own table to get a good amount of work done, and the books are such a useful resource for
Demographic characteristics play a major role, affecting communities in Canada. Three main demographic characteristics that affect a country are population growth rate, population density, and the dependency load of a country. Rocks are the superior males and the pebbles are the weak females that have no power;, Rrocks can create mountains and hills, while pebbles can only be left with the dust and dirt, but one thing you did not know about pebbles is that they could skip in the river, rocks however are being eroded into pebbles and want change as the time pass. The pebbles are able to progress and be as strong and powerful as rocks as they skip along the river retaining a constant speed of strength to create a strong position for themselves. In the United States’ system of patriarchy, the rocks symbolize the “superior” men and the pebbles represent the women. Women are isolated from society and are shunned from power as the men grow with potential and authority.
In the mid-1980's, the thermal imaging camera (TIC) was introduced into the firefighting market as another tool to aide in their ability to save lives, including their fellow firefighters. However, since its introduction there have been numerous discussions whether or not the TIC has a place in the firefighter's arsenal of tools. It is claimed that the TIC is "...one of the most spectacular applications of technology introduced into the fire service since the steam engine..." (http://www.avadtech.com). The problem with such a hi-tech tool is that it has
Capital punishment is the legally authorized killing of someone as punishment for a crime. Although capital punishment is wrong and is the killing of a human being, capital punishment is legal in thirty-two of the fifty states in the United States, meaning that the other eighteen states outlaw it as a punishment for crime. States that capital punishment is legal in all have different guidelines for what is punishable by death, but mostly murder or other capital offenses are what is punished. Capital punishment is not a better answer than life imprisonment. Capital punishment is wrong because there is a possibility of killing an innocent or mentally ill person, there is no evidence that it is deters crime, the cost is extremely expensive, and there is inconsistency in choosing a punishment for crime.
