Career Tech will provide me with an environment of friends that are dedicated to the same level of education I am. Career tech meets my family’s standards. It provides a way for me to get a great academic foundation and continue playing for Wasilla Warriors basketball team. I believe Career Tech will boost me into my future and my road to college. I enjoy singing and participated in the Alaska Children’s Choir for three years in addition to years of school choir with Mrs. Janet all throughout my attendance at Midnight Sun Charter School and partly through middle school. I play the piano and have represented my school in volleyball, cross-country and basketball. I have played almost every season of basketball for six years (four of which were
During my field work experience, I got the opportunity to work with my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Francisca Gachett, who has been teaching for over 11 years. She worked between 2005 and 2013 in community school with students with special needs and English Language Learners children. She then furthered her career in the Department of Education, working in District 75, where she has taught for the last three years. She got the opportunity to work within an ICT, 6:1:1, and 12:1:1: settings. As Mrs. Gachett continues to grow working with Special Education, where her love grows stronger for her students. She creates a bond with her students which makes them felt loved and wanted in the classroom. Mrs. Gachett don’t believe in the no child left behind act. She believe that the no child left behind should not related to special needs children. Special needs children testing are not able to grasp the curriculum that required. They are not advance enough to cultivate in that population as the regular students. The purpose for her believe is that each students need someone to believe in them. Believe that no matter what stage they’re in, they can still be the person they want to be. Mrs. Gachett says “when I look at my students, I see them as how I see my own children.” Mrs. Gachetty was blessed to have two children of her own. She says that “I treat my students the same way I would want my children to be treated. I want them to be comfortable and confidence in their classroom, where
I’m currently working for my family-owned business and hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics. My original intent was to become a consultant or working for the federal government. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wanted something else, something in the creative realm. I always saw repeated openings for UX/UI position when searching for new jobs. It piqued my interest and I spent some time researched about the position and the industry. I chose User Interface Design because it was a good mix between technical and artistic skills. I’m looking forward to exercise my creative abilities while learning how to use new software and technology. It gave me a real peace of mind when Career Foundry also offered career advising and job placement guarantee.
The Technovation Challenge that required you to code a mobile application to solve a community problem sparked my interest in computer science. I built up my skills in CS through the preparation for this competition, which led me to continue learning new programming languages like Java and HTML. The key message behind this competition was that even if you are a woman, you could accomplish anything in a STEM field. Only after this was I exposed to the inequality present in STEM fields. I wanted to give the same opportunities to girls all over to inspire and prepare them to pursue STEM fields. After being selected by the Made With Code Advisory Committee, I was further educated on the inequality and how much girls would be benefited if they had
I am extremely excited by the opportunity to join a program that combines quantitative and analytical approaches to solve interesting biological issues in combating diseases and creating therapies. At Caltech, I have seen the benefits of a small and close-knit group, necessitating the need for interdisciplinary work whether in research or in classes. The HST program is not only a perfect program to continue my path to become a physician-scientist, but also builds from my prior education and experiences.
I was graduated from C.D Hylton High School on Jun 20,2015. In addition, I received my high school diploma successfully finished the 12 grade. Currently I am attending at Stratford University, and undergraduate for my Associate of Applied Science in network management security.
My 7th-grade artwork was featured on the front cover of the 2016-17 Park School Magazine. I actively participate in music. I have taken the piano for eight years and three years ago picked up the drums in a rock band called the Bread-Heads with my friends. We meet on Tuesdays for one hour and play annually at the Hard Rock Cafe.
I feel as though CIT is a good choice of major for me because I’ve worked with computers
I've always had a heart for show choir. I've attended Show Times since I was a kid watching my cousins perform. I've been to every single invitational and love to watch all of the groups. I competed in the El Paso Idol during corn fest 2 years in a row. I even made a Christmas CD with my sister to hand out to my friends and family for a gift. When I gave one to my music teacher at the time, Mrs. Nix, she allowed me to sing the song Happy Birthday Jesus at our Christmas concert. I have also sang solos at St. Jude Benefits, duets with my sister at Mother Daughter tea parties, worship at church, and helped lead children's church for many years. I have been involved in every show choir camp that has been offered by the music department. I also took piano lessons and look forward to starting again this summer. As for dancing I took jazz and hip hop dancing at a very young age. I also took 2 years of jazz in middle school.
Coming into high school, I played on the school basketball team for two years. My junior year, I joined the Ski and Snowboard Club and became a captain for the Student Impact basketball league. I also joined American Pie rock concert family and continue to have a part in the show this year. My academic extracurricular activities include being member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and the Brain Game team. Lastly, this past fall, I was elected Senior Class Officer by my peers, which has allowed me to showcase my leadership skills by organizing school activities surrounding homecoming, graduation, and Mr.

I play the clarinet and I play in my band at school. It took me a long time to learn this instrument. It has about 40 keys and each are very special. I enjoy this because my friends also play this instrument. This instrument is very complex but I’m always up for a challenge. Another musical talent I have is singing. Singing is just a hobby for me but people have told me that I am very good. I did chorus in 4th and 5th grade I had made many solos and made district chorus. District chorus was a challenge I had to go try out and all these amazing singers were there and I was scared. It payed off though I was so happy my friends and I made the team. We missed 2 days of school and travelled to a place in Norfolk and performed with all the schools combined. It was also fun because we went to get breakfast at IHop. District chorus was so much fun I hope I can have the opportunity one day again. I also take musical stage it’s both singing and drama it’s the best class ever. It’s what a love to do in one class. We put on plays and sing. Music and arts are a big part of my life and I love that I have these unique
My interest in cybersecurity came about as an inevitable infection from my black tech role-models (they were cyber-geeks). Thus, during my sophomore year of college, I participated in the National Cyber Analyst Challenge as a way of learning the basics of cybersecurity. Much to the surprise of my team, this challenge was not an introductory competition, but a highly technical one. My teammates and I were soon overwhelmed by eighty gigabytes of forensics evidence data in unfamiliar file formats. We dug through the files, pieced together a story, and applied newly learned security concepts. Despite our lack of experience, I led my team to qualify as one the few undergraduate programs for the final round. The following year, we won the top prize among the 20 participating schools within the first round.
Extracurricular activities I have been involved in within school include Girls Tennis, Knowledge Bowl, Speech, Yearbook and Fine Arts productions. Most notably I have been active in the music department, specifically choir. In my freshman and sophomore year I participated in the Fantasia Choir, and in my junior and senior year I participated in the Madrigal and Jazz Choir. In all of my years in the high school I have participated in Large Group Festival in Kerkhoven, Minnesota and Solo Ensemble in Benson, Minnesota. I have earned two Superior solo ratings, one excellent solo rating, and one excellent duet rating. This January I will perform at Dorian Music Festival at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
