When I get older and advance in my career, I would like to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician is a health care provider who provides pharmacy related functions to people who need medication. We can also work for long-term facilities, third party insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufactures. A pharmacy technician job is never an easy job. Maybe one day I could even become a Pharmacist. A pharmacist is the person who writes prescriptions, knows what drug a client needs and can diagnose a person. Where on the other hand, a pharmacy technician works under them. We give out and sort the medication. A pharmacy technician cannot diagnose a patient. I plan to work hard and get my certifications to get to where they are so I will be able to diagnose people and have that title.

Many technicians specialize in either CSI (crime scene investigation) or laboratory analysis. The job I would like to do when I am older is neonatal surgery. I think neonatal surgery is a wonderful profession for me because I love babies. This job entails working with and performing life saving surgeries to premature babies, or babies with birth defects. I feel as though this job is a gift because you’re giving life to another human and also giving them another chance at life.

I would like to be a Forensic Science Technician, simply because I find this kind of stuff interesting. A Forensic Science Technician does many things. Four things they do are run ballistics tests on guns to find the one used in a bank robbery; collect evidence from a crime scene to help understand the chain of events; match DNA samples to reunite a long lost child to his/her family; and solve a crime by matching fingerprints at the crime scene to a suspect. One of the top reasons I would join this career is because I want to be able to solve a crime if someone needs help. I am a kinesthetic learner. I like to learn in different ways. I also have difficulty sitting still or staying in one place for too long so I move around a lot. A methodical technician while listening to the customer surveys the area for any obvious problems that is associated to the customers concerns. The technician will always engage the customer to try to either recreate or identify what happened. This thought process allows the methodical technician to drive the troubleshooting in the correct way, so there will be minimal down time or loss of data. Having the correct tools and publications on hand as well as the full story from the customer will allow the technician to drive down to the problem and effectively solve it.
