It makes a person feel great after they have changed one’s life for better. “What I love most about my job is interacting with my patients and making a difference. When I know that I made some positive changes in my patient’s lives, or with my staff, it really makes my day,” said Kathy Gatchel, the director of perioperative services at Waterbury Hospital. To illustrate, if a mother’s child cannot speak because of a head injury, a speech pathologist would try so hard to enable him to speak. Ultimately, when a child starts to speak, it makes one proud of himself that he was able to change someone’s life positively. Furthermore, a child would be influenced by the work one did for him. As an effect, he will want to help others as a pathologist helped him. In conclusion, it is an honor to treat those patients’ who do not have the power to treat
While growing up, there are innumerable decisions to be made and paths to take. As I am approaching the ending point of my high school career, I have finally found the correct one for me. I have known from a surprisingly young age that I wish to pursue a job in the medical field, and have taken a number of steps to help achieve this dream. I show tremendous passion for both my educational and career goals, and how to reach them. My future is incredibly important to me because through doing my job, I will also be achieving my biggest goal: saving lives.
I feel so proud and yet so humbled to be a nurse. Helping a post-operative surgical patient regain the strength to walk brings me immense satisfaction. Collaborating with physicians to advocate on behalf of unstable patients makes me feel like a valued part of a team. Consoling tearful, discouraged patients can be gut-wrenching, but it teaches me the power of empathy. Making a real, tangible difference in my patients’ lives is what drives me toward this next phase in my career.
I have always had a high admiration for the impact that physicians have on families. At an early age, my younger sister had major heart surgery. Being four, I was too young to fully grasp what this meant for my family, but I quickly learned the grief my parents endured thinking their only daughter would not live past two. Dr. Jane Doe saved my sister, giving me a friend for life. I have set my goal to be like countless doctors who save lives daily and improve the quality
As the school year comes to an end, many high school careers with it, there's a lot of decisions that seniors have to think about. In order to better prepare themselves for life, many of the students and Gary High School have been doing research on both jobs and education. There are many things to consider when preparing for the future such as what to study during college and for the rest of your life. One particular student says that she would like to be a nurse, but she would have to endure many years of schooling and a rather large amount of clinical hours. This research paper outlines everything that would have to be done in order to secure someone's future as a registered nurse.
As noted previously when someone needs help or can no longer do certain things on his or her own he or she will contact a home health aide. Home health aides are can assist the chronically ill, cognitively impaired, elderly, convalescent, or disabled without the loss of quality. With their complete range of services and products, which are tailored to fit the client’s lifestyle, he or she can become more involved in the patient’s care and help the patient feel more independent. Some services may be personal care to companionship but regardless of how big or little they are fulfilled with the awareness of proving a safe environment. Offering
One struggle that almost every teenager is faced with is the decision of how he or she wants to spend the rest of his or her life. We have been asked since we were in kindergarten, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Only now, that lingering question has teenagers stressed. They are expected to make a decision at the mere age of 18 before they have even experienced the real world. While some people get to be 80 years old, still unsure of what they “want to be when they grow up,” others are fortunate enough to find their path early on in life. In June 2015, I found the path for me in the hospital emergency room where I had the experience of a lifetime. I was participating in a summer volunteer program called “AHEC (Area Health Education Center) of a Summer.”
As doctors are put into hospitals to keep patients alive and healthy, Hospital Administrators are put in hospitals to keep the facility alive and healthy. The day- to- day job of a Hospital Administrator is rigorous and detail oriented. He or she was chosen to keep the hospital operating efficiently, within budget while keeping many parties happy at the same time. Hospital Administrators work long and odd hours, possibly
I have decided to pursue a career in health information technology. My eventual goal is to get a job in a medical billing and coding setting. I am lucky enough to have a couple of family members that currently work in this field, so I am ahead of the curve in knowing what to expect and where are good places to apply.
I am very fascinated with the sciences and I have no real capacity to be an artist. My parents have always pushed me in the direction of going to university, always hinting to the fact that they would be proudest of me if I were to become a doctor of some kind. Now that I have a choice of doing whatever I would like as a career, I find myself overwhelmed. It’s not like I hate the prospect of becoming a doctor, in fact I quite like it. The idea that people will one day look at me with the sort of reverence I look up to at doctors today, excites me. Also I do love helping other people solve their problems. Through this journal I have come to the realization that I need to start preparing now for university rather than
aging populations will put big financial burdens on the government as older people will need more health care and translation services. More home care. As the number of elderly people increases, the health care system is short of medical doctors, nurse. So it can be said that doctors and nurses are a great field of study to attract
The healthcare industry is so vast and so important to the well- being of the U.S. economy that it should not come as a surprise that it requires competent administrators able to manage the day-

A career in the health care field is a growing profession. Unlike many different avenues of career choices, the health care field is projected to grow rapidly in many years to come. When a person decides to obtain a health care position they are able to literally live anywhere and still be able to find a job. There are numerous options of working anytime that fits into the daily routine of a person’s schedule. Also, the choice of deciding whether or not to work alone or work on team, depending on which path is chosen.
For as long as I could remember, I have seen my father rushing to the hospital in a white coat, answering pagers in the middle of important family conversations and attending night calls even in the most terrible weather. I had always wondered; what could be so important that it belittles every other responsibility in his life. It was only after many years of anguish and protests that it finally made sense to me. This defining moment of realization occurred when I first met a patient in his office. I saw how the gratitude in the patient’s eyes can provide a sense of fulfillment that triumphs all other feelings in the universe. It was human life that was most important. Being a doctor does not make you a mere healer but also gives you the responsibility of a caregiver. I had never felt more proud of my father and that was the day I felt the urge to relive this feeling many times over. It was there in that moment that I decided to pursue a career in medicine.
Using the SMART method, my long term goal is to continue my work as a CNA while applying for healthcare administrator positions. I would like to work as an administrator for at least 3 years for any medical setting. While working, I will be looking into ways on how I can own and operate a home healthcare agency. According to Marak, (2017), I really don’t need to have experience in the medical industry; I would just need to have the passion for providing care, the marketing savvy, an understanding of business knowledge, and integrity. With my CNA experience, along with my other work experiences, I am half way there.
