The debate over Canada’s need of constitutional reform is continuously discussed. According to Peter H. Russell, because we cannot perfectly define who should be considered as a Canadian and what kind of a country should it be, the debate on the constitutional amendment will continue to develop in the future. Some argue that the controversy of constitutional amendments has not been raised since 2000 because Canadians have been tried of the long-standing controversy over the constitutional amendments. I believe that confederation assisted Canada’s economy a lot; for example, the colonies were able to sell and trade their products which increased their economic benefits.
