Some people say that ideas or types of knowledge can be taught, but ethical behavior cannot be taught because it is a matter of individual choice.In the other hand the philosopher Plato thought that ethics could be taught, but some people argue that ethics is learned by personal experiences. “Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do.” I believe that you can teach the basics of ethics in a classroom, but you can only learn to have good ethics through personal experiences. Classrooms do not provide an atmosphere to really change a person’s way of thinking. Ethics is changing your way of thinking and only real experiences can do that for us. Educating students on ethics can minimize academic misconducts, guide students to become self-reliant in decision-making and attain wisdom. Yet, less experienced teachers, ignorance towards the importance of ethics and the increasing pressure on teachers regarding students’ academic standards have become inevitable challenges in the implementation of ethics in education.

Ethics is best described as a system of moral values that is followed by human beings. In this chapter, I found myself connecting with Mo Tzu’s statement about Universal Love. His statement followed his principle that everyone should have access to peace, food, and clothes. Food and clothes, I believe, are two basic needs that a human being needs on a daily basis. As for peace, I believe that it is something that all human being should have to feel in their life and strive for. This is something that I can definitely relate to because my family and I are constantly involved in making other lives better when things are rough for them. I was taught at a young age that not every one on this planet was as fortunate as I was, and I will forever be thankful for my parents for teaching me this
