Camp Blue Lake Beam After getting the ax from Elkton hills my parents thought I had behavior problems and all, so they decided to send me to Camp Blue Lake during the summer. The camp supposedly was going to make me more responsible and better at following orders, as if making kids run two miles every morning and tie knots molded them into responsible young men. I didn't really learn much, it's not like I had any issues to begin with. The the camp was fine i guess, except for this one guy named Ben; a moron who did idiotic acts to fulfill his need of attention. I loathed that guy, I really did. Just by screwing around in front of the officers that sonuvabitch was able to gain admiration and popularity within Blue Lake. His phoniness made

This summer one scientific thing I did was use a water mat on Lake Winnipesaukee. A water mat is a giant raft that floats on the surface of the water. It's constructed from the same styrofoam type material that a pool noodle is made out of. It is extremely versatile and can be used in many different ways. The way that I enjoyed using it the most was to jump from our pontoon boat onto the mat. I would make my way to the edge of the boat, steady myself, and leap, landing directly on top of the green float. The impact of the jump made my feet feel sore for a few seconds. When I was ready, I would hurdle myself off the mat and climb back onto the boat. While this activity does require a lot of skill, it requires a lot of science as well.
The city of Gem Lake, Minnesota shares much of its history with the larger, surrounding cities of White Bear Lake and Little Canada. Originally a wooded land covered with lakes, the area now known today as Gem Lake remained uncolonized until the 1840s. As early as 1843, French explorer Jean Nicollet drew a map depicting “Bear’s Lake.” This was the first record of the present day area, and it would signify the impending colonization.
Greasy Lake, musty, fetid, and uneasy to one’s eyes, still intriguing to explore. This lake was mysterious, yet it was a clear invitation for these teens. It was the only place where one could go and not worry about the real world, it was as if it was fantasy. As grimy and evil the lake was they still felt an attracted to it because it was a mirror reflection of their lives. Digby and Jeff did not know what they wanted to do with their lives, lost, young, and hopeless. In addition, these kids wanted an adventure, wanted to stop thinking about school and real life. These kids wanted an escape, yet in Greasy Lake they actually found how cruel the real world is. The nineteen-year-olds felt like they did not care for a single thing and as they

The story “Crow Lake” by Mary Lawson, arises with the protagonist Kate Morrison declaring that an unexpected event had occurred, which entirely changed the life of her siblings, Luke, Matt, Bo and her. In the beginning of the story, she states, “ When the end came, it seemed to do so completely out of the blue, and it wasn’t until long afterwards that I was able to see that there was a chain of events leading up to it.” (Lawson 7) The story starts off with a slow pace of present-day Kate reflecting back into her past and realizing, as she got older that the incident, which had fully changed her life and influenced her to whom she is today wasn’t astonishing, but had been a series of events leading up to it. It is visible
Green Lake in the Bishop Creek Canyon is a sacred place and the happy hunting ground for the ancestors of the Paiute people. Evidence of the habitation of these people goes back thousands of years and indicates that this area was of prime importance for food gathering. The men hunted deer and mountain sheep while the women and children gathered and prepared food. Everybody pitched in on all the other chores like making camp.
For the decades the first nation peoples are not being treated properly. Whether in terms of signing treaties or getting compensation of using their water from shoal lake 40. The Canadian government has carried out against Indigenous people, their land and their water as well. A centaury ago when the demand for water was increasing in Winnipeg city because of growing population , the federal government forcefully captured their reserve land on shoal lake 40 in order to construct aquaduct which is used to carry water extracted from shoal lake into the Winnipeg city. The federal government did not think about the consequences the first nation people will face who actually depend on shoal lake for their survival. T
Adults look back on what they did as a child at one point or another. Perhaps while looking back they can pinpoint where it all went wrong. Others may pinpoint where it all went right. In the case of “Greasy Lake,” the narrator reminisces about where he learned about life. One event in a persons’ life can stand out to them in their adulthood, and remind them of where they learned to truly appreciate life as a whole.
Dave Sinclair, vice-president of human resources at Blue Mountain Resort (BMR), was considering his options concerning the company's service quality program. He gathered together a team of 25 BMR managers to identify opportunities to improve service quality. They had provided Dave with a number of specific proposals he wanted to evaluate and decide on a course of action. From all, Dave identified three proposals that required careful consideration: costumer flow, speed of service and information technology (IT).
“Greasy Lake” was published in 1985 along with other stories from the author, T. Corahessan Boyle. The story is a gripping tale of three teen boys ‘living on the edge’, in which the author presents himself and his friends as a group of dangerous individuals. One would think that the narrator has truth in his words, but all events in the story point to the contrary. T. Corahessan Boyle, or T. C. Boyle for short, is an unreliable narrator. The truth of this story is not in the text, but in the underlying meanings and subliminal nuances. This hidden reality really helps the reader make a direct judgment of the characters. After reading between the lines, one quickly finds out who the characters are, but more
Greasy Lake written by T. Coraghessan Boyle is written in first person point of view. The whole story seems to follow this point of view. The main character whose name is not mentioned in the story is the one re-counting the story he is also depicting his story as an older version of himself. He uses past terms to let the reader know that he is now older such as “We were all dangerous characters then (Boyle 529).” He also tells them they wore torn up leather jackets (Boyle 529). It lets the reader know that this story is not present day, but a memory. It also lends to a sense of what the story might have in store. According to an article written by Joseph Quevedo, he states “There is foreshadowing in the beginning of the story when the narrator states, “There was a time when . . . it was good to be bad . . . We were all dangerous characters then” (Quevedo).”
