Communication skill help us to perform activities well, in care setting, we must have good communication to communicate with clients and other staff members. It helps us to work with others, e.g. What task needs doing now, how many staff members are needed to do it e.g. Mrs x needs a bed pan, who is going to him or her to provide help in using the hoist to ensure client safety there must be communication to ensure activity is carried out safely. We need interpersonal skills like writing a report, care plans to talk to medical teams like doctors, GP, physio or occupational therapist or other professionals and also to relatives or anyone else involved in the clients care.

Basic Interpersonal Communicative Skills (BICS) refers to a student’s ability to understand basic conversational English, sometimes called social language. Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) refers to a student’s ability to effectively understand and use the more advanced and complex language necessary for success in academic endeavors, sometimes referred to as academic language.

I became a part of the EOF because I like to study and work hard in the summer. This program is helpful because college is different than high school and in college I have to work harder and do all my best to pass the summer program with a good grade. This program will help us to do well in the fall semester and they support us with many things such as tutoring, academic skills workshops. The reason that I applied for the EOF is to get to know the college that I will go to and at the end of the program if I passed I will get college credits and that’s one of the things that I am looking forward to. The EOF is designed strengthen my preparation for college level and academic success.

As communication is a key element in my field, the necessity for them to develop excellent Language skills is key, as it also requires preparation, as elements of clear enunciation, focusing and the design of presentations are usually present in most of the courses within this field.

With a S.T.E.M. certificate, colleges would be more inclined to accept me because of my qualifications. The S.T.E.M. program would be an outstanding achievement to add to my résumé of accomplishments in an attempt to stand out from the ordinary community that does not have as much to offer as I do.

CLC Key Point: The final key point I would like to make is my work and time I did with my CLC Team this week on our project. I have learned through many years of working on teams that you must be prepared for “bumps” in the road. This project was no different. I think with this particular group, communicate more often. Our overall project is good, but we cut close to get it turned in on time. We had to track down the last piece due to slow communication. However, as I stated before you always to be successful you learn to work with the team you have. You need to help your teammates be the best they can be by supporting them, not degrading them or being negative toward them. I make a policy to remember that each person brings something different

The reason it is important to have CLOs (Core Learning Outcomes) is because CLOs assist students to develop skills that they would use in college and in the "real world". CLOs help you prepare for long-term career success, also to make sure your degree has value in the "real world". FSU's set of CLOs, think it is important for students to know what they need to do in order to prepare for college and the "real world'. As I have been attending the Open Door program at Holy Resurrection Church, I have noticed that the program tries to impact the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of those that are participating as volunteers and as attendees. In terms of the physical impact that the program has, the attendees are offered a meal as well as some supplies to help them get through the week. They are also given the opportunity to go through a stack of donated clothes where they can take whatever they need. The program does not impact the physical well-being of those volunteering but it does impact their intellectual well-being.

Communication Skills: I always strive to be available and approachable to safety team members and also for the reps from other CPL Teams. In addition, I effectively communicate with safety specialists from the Facebook Safety Team. I always consider communication as a core value for development and success, so I believe implementation of good communication channels within the team is crucial.

Communication is a necessity in our daily lives, and each of us has our own unique style of communication. I feel like my communication is okay, but there are definitely parts that can be improved on.
