In this discussion post I will discuss locating psychology research and my result from Capella University Library Research and Information Literacy Skills also known as the RAILS.
What was your score on the Library Research Skills Final Assessment that you completed in the preparation study? What skill areas were recommended for improvement and what skill areas did you do well on? I received 69% on the RAILS assessment test answering 11 out of 16. What tips would you give others for learning these commands?
Although, I found Boolean’s commands confusing I used it once I went over “Construct your search using Boolean commands.
Entering a word or two words then and/or the another word or two word s and/or. I didn’t try the Not I didn’t feel there were words that was not relevant to my search.
What strategies did you use to locate your articles related to your research question?
I created my search by using three different keywords.
I also entered up to two additional keywords for each of my keywords making sure I have spelled everything correctly before continuing.

The Department implemented recommendations and the mother must comply. If the mother does not comply she will lose her parental rights and child will enter permanent foster care. Mother and client are learning to communicate during Supervised Visitation and their relationship is improving. Mom is bipolar and has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), sexual trauma, seizures, ulcers, and Degenerative Disease (DDD). The client also has sexual trauma, Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Depression with psychosis, Attention Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

After two adults have decided that they are going to end their marriage and get a divorce, the question of, “Who is going to care for the children?” may become the next big debate. Obviously, there are numerous reasons for people to get a divorce or they may never had been married in the first place. There are also difference situations and levels of responsibility among parents. Due to these potential variations, there are different types of custody arrangements for children. I will be discussing the four types of custody arrangements and what two fundamental categories of parental decision-making authority these arrangements are based upon.
When conducting any type of search ProQuest looks for what you enter in the search box and will search for any available abstract or full text or all documents in all selected databases. Whatever search term you type in even if spelled incorrectly you may ask yourself if the database will be able to still accurately interpret the intended search term and conduct an effective search if one or more of the search terms are spelled incorrectly? A test was conducted using the search term Mozart due to it being a common term that the database would be able to detect. When conducting the basic search of the correct spelling of the word Mozart in the search box ProQuest
--looks for inconsistencies, eg. proper nouns spelled two different ways. (Always use spell-check to help locate such inconsistencies.)
What I was able to complete begins after line 336, after the imported provided stemmer code. You will see in the included Python file that I included an array of stop words which I built based on one of the many suggested lists of stop words you can find online (List of Stop Words, 2018). I also included an array of punctuation used to identify any tokens that started with any punctuation. I created two dictionaries to keep track of the terms and documents with an associated ID. Starting at line 424, is the code to perform the token stemming, removal of stop words, and removal of tokens that start with punctuation. As part of this, I tracked the number of unique terms that were removed by the stop words and also added code to output a .dat file of the stopped words. I also had this “stop and punctuation.dat” file include the tokens that were removed for punctuation. The punctuation tokens were not tracked as unique stop words that were removed and reported along with the other program
