Women’s Obsession over buying expensive shoes
Men’s high heels (Europe, 1700’s)
Shoes and stockings became very important for men in the 1700’s, when the tailored coat and breeches came into fashion and the focus shifted to the lower body, suddenly it was all about the shapely legs, and men wanted to wear flattering, fanciful hose and shoes to accentuate them. King Louis XIV also had a thing for high heels. It must have been tough being short in stature but lofty in power and usually whatever the king does, everyone else copies as well, so when King Louis XIV wore high heels with red soles and heels only those who were respectable was able to wear

"When they wear stilettos, they imagine a primal mating pose termed as lordosis because her butts lifts and her back arches" added Fischer.
4. Keeping up with fashion. Ladies are severely addicted with fashion. Whatever is in, they follow. Getting on with the trends give them a kind of feeling that makes them gain more confidence. Fashion is very essential for them and this is the main reason why they collect and collect so many shoes of various kinds, brands and color.
5. Displaying their shoes for the occasion. Girls wear various types of shoes on different occasions. This is the reason why they have running shoes, stilettos, formal black shoes, sandals, so on and so forth.

So these are some of the main reasons why women buy branded(expensive) shoes:
1. Product Quality
Some designer brands can be made from a very high level of quality and standard. Designer clothes and accessories including handbags are often made from finer fabric and have superior stitching quality and attention to detail.
2. Consistency
People who buy designer brands will often only stick to a few designers. This is why many times you can see people have over thirty handbags of different models from the same brand. When someone buys a particular pair of jeans from a brand and they end up really liking the fabric and the fit of that pair of jeans then they 're more prone to think that all
I believe blue jeans are a product that requires an investment, especially if you want them to last for a while. Likewise, I have a brand preference when I purchase blue jeans. Ferrell and Hartline (2014) acknowledge that, a brand preference is a type of brand loyalty in which a customer prefers one brand to competitive brands and usually will purchase the preferred brand if it's available. However, in my case with blue jeans I usually have a brand insistence in which I must have the brand that I fully enjoy and I will not accept any other brand of jeans in place of them (Ferrell & Hartline, 2014). I like for my jeans to last versus having to go out and buy new jeans every other month due to wear and tear, fading, and frazzled ends. Essentially, I purchase the brand of jeans I have been loyal to for years and that I truly enjoy the fit, style, color, quality, and durability of the jeans. I refuse to purchase other brands despite the fact that I have attempted to try other brands, but essentially, they just don't supply me with what I am looking for in the quality of jeans that I desire and
Elizabethan fashion influenced the modern day fashion world in many aspects. In Elizabethan times, fashion was often used to show status in society, and was very important to women. Fashion today can be compared to the same aspects. Women wear different brands or types of clothing to show status or capital. Although women don’t wear as many layers of dress clothing, women often are
Laces usually fastened corsets at the back and were drawn tightly to alter the silhouette. The product was a “wasp waist” effect, or as some have expressed, the “hour glass figure”.
Christian Louboutin once said “a shoe has so much more to offer than just to walk”. Similarly, author Diane Riva discusses this idea in her essay “Exposed Toes”. Riva takes a compelling approach to her argument believing that shoes are not just part of your wardrobe rather they are your identity. For Riva, her black sneakers represent her career life as they are the shoes she wears to work, her boat shoes resemble her connection with nature, her high-heel dress shoes speak for her elegance, her sandals represent her spontaneous self and lastly her “shoes of choice” are her natural feet as they represent everything about Riva’s world and go with her everywhere. Overall, Riva express that her shoes are her identity and each pair resemble apart of her character.
The first few times you see shoes mentioned is irrelevant, but once you get to the chapter “The Family of Little Feet,” shoes begin to take on a meaning. A woman came up to Esperanza and her friends Rachel and Lucy, offering a bag of shoes which were said to be “one pair of lemon shoes and one red and one pair of dancing shoes that used to be white but were now pale blue” (40). The girls were excited by the shoes, made clear by the line “Hurray! Today we are Cinderella because our feet fit exactly” (40). They even go as far to describe them as “magic high heels” (40) while they were learning to walk in them. Soon, however, this innocence and joy get tainted once the girls go walking in the shoes, first having Mr. Benny, the grocer, say, “Them are dangerous. You girls too young to be wearing shoes like that” (41). But this didn’t faze the girls, and they continued walking. They enjoyed the attention they were getting, Esperanza even saying, “these are the best shoes. We will never go back to wearing the other
According to Kelda a person who wears clog shoes is an open spirit who loves nature. She explains, “A lot of nurses, healthcare professionals, chefs, and people that work in kitchens wear clogs.” She claims that, “People who wear flats, work their butt off to ensure there is always a perfectly finished product. They are humble people who don’t require any attention or recognition for their efforts”. Kelda also explains, “They are modest and generous” and “They’re often the women doing all the work in the world.
How they get these people to keep buying these shoes is ethos and pathos. What I mean by that is the company uses superstars athletes to lures these young audiences or sneakerhead to buy these shoes or celebrities would wear certain sneakers and people would want to have or look like them.
Ever since I was an 11-year-old prepubescent child, I have been in love with sneakers. Now we aren’t just talking any type of sneakers that you would wear on any normal day. No. I am talking the high-class stuff. Those Air Jordans that you see in a glass case in some fancy sneaker store in the middle of New York City. I took a huge liking to these sneakers, falling in love with each pair that I had owned. As I got older, to my surprise, I found that there wasn’t a small group of people on Long Island that were exactly like I am with sneakers, but instead a gigantic population across the world. I found that there were
The constantly spinning wheel of the fashion industry is just as disturbing. Brands are progressively getting more and more inexpensive, but are at the same time compromising the quality of the goods. Say you buy a discounted shirt from Top Shop because it was just “such an amazing deal”, and the thread holding it together falls apart after a few weeks. How likely are you to sew it up and fix it yourself? I bet you’d repeatedly just go out and purchase another cheaply made top to replace the last one. Low-cost materials used to make clothing ensure consumers are wedged in a repetitive cycle of buying and
nown for mind turning styles, these footwear are merely funky yet fun giving. With entertainment and excitement, these footwear draw fullness of attention
Typically, these factories are located outside of the United States, and with cheap and readily available labor, the knockoff designs can be created in a matter of hours and shipped to stores months before the original version. These companies are able to replicate the original designs almost perfectly, and for much less money, as well. In turn, chain retailers like Bloomingdale’s, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21 then purchase hundreds of these clothes and promptly sell them to consumers way before the original designs even have a chance to make their debut (Wilson). The biggest problem with this is that fashion design is an art form in itself, and with duplicates, the creative and original credit of the designers are lost. American consumers can no longer tell what garments in a store are original and which have been duplicated (“Stop Fashion Design Piracy”). From a moral perspective, this is essentially burying the recognition that independent designers deserve for their work.
“Aleah, that is so ugly,” my friends exclaimed as I eagerly pulled out my brand new pants from their perfectly packaged shipping box. “But they’re Michael Kors!” I argued, as though it increased their appeal. The truth was, the price tag read $78.00, and they were completely see through. Within society, there are numerous people who spend thousands of dollars on designer clothing that is not considered attractive street fashion or good quality. Often, the reason clothing is priced highly is because it includes a logo to advertise the brand and proclaim that it is “the cool thing to wear” while pressuring surrounding people to buy from the same designer as an attempt to become cool as well.
As a manager the strategy, and business model generated can have a direct impact on a firms performance. If your strategy doesn’t have any notion of how it plans to generate a competitive advantage or your business model doesn’tt portray how you’re going to create value for the consumer, it will have a negative impact on your firm, This will cause your firm loose in terms of the competition within the industry, and generate a competitive disadvanatage, which is underperformance relative to other competitiors in the same industry or industry average(Rothaermel, F.).

In today’s world of personal finance and economics, with the global perspective being the primary focus. Corporations, just like individuals, are looking at expanding their horizons and saving or making as much profit as they can. How do they accomplish this gigantic and often expensive proposition? The answer to this is through credit. However I poise a question to everyone. Is the ease of which to receive credit today a hindrance and detriment to all of us, or is it the answer we have all been looking for? I will show you both sides of this situation and you are the judge.
