CHAPTER ONE Laws and policies exist at all levels of society; they are the foundation of how a business or a society functions. From personnel management to driving a car, laws and policies govern execution of these actions. In this paper, I will summarize a situation I encountered at work, and explain how it correlates to the content of Chapter One, (Bagley & Savage, 2010). During shift change one morning, one employee arrived late to shift huddle. I noticed she was visibly agitated, and immediately prepared myself for her behavior. As expected, she started demanding things and barking orders. She assessed the daily schedule, and her agitation turned into frustration. Once she finished evaluating her assigned position, she slammed the
The Legislative Branch has the job of creating bills, which are later given back and forth to the House of Representatives and the Senate, then hopefully to the president to become a law. When I studied bills that were in session by representatives, I found that most of the bills created never became laws. This happens often because community representatives and senators have difficulties agreeing on bills. I also noticed that Representatives were not frequent at creating bills based on the issues they cover. For instance, the Representative for the 63133 District of Missouri, Lacy Clay, sponsored the H.R.3683 bill, which was only introduced and was last altered November 20, 2015. The H.R.3683 focuses on getting programs that exemplify the

I registered to take SEPS 405 summer 2015, but I had to drop it. I was having problems with finding a intern. job. My assigned director was Sharon Davis due to a glitch in the system but it should have been you. Sharon would have taken 195 hours and I would have to work 15 hours a week until the semester was over. Would this still be okay? I wanted to know, so I can present this to possible jobs. I will be registering to take it summer 2016. Hopefully you are still the correct person to speak with in regards to this matter. If not, can you please point me in the right direction.

For this assignment I was asked to make two sample sequence with images from Week 4 Assignment 2. I like sequence two the best, because it displays more of what's going on during the concert, for example, face painter with a client and a juggler in action. Sequence one is more of an introduction, that's why the opening image is an overall view of the crowd, the second image is of the band sound check, the third is the announcer, and then the band opening and so on.. I chose the closing images, because it is a final image that sums up the evening. I want the audience to interpret from the sequences that they got to experience the event themselves, from start to end.

The goal of communications is to make ethics a live, ongoing conversation. If ethics is something that is constantly addressed, referenced frequently in company meetings, and in personal conversations among managers and employees, then people are more aware and more willing to defend the company’s policies when they see or hear of problems. Employees will hold other employees responsible and accountable for living the company’s values.
Due to the increase in racial and ethnic diversity in the United Sates there is a great need to provide counseling interventions that cater for social issues that are attributed to the racial and ethnic diversity. Presently, efforts are being made to implement social justice advocacy strategies and interventions into counseling practices. Thus, counselors are encouraged to be agents and advocates for social justice, oppression, and discrimination (Ratts & Hutchins, 2009). At the forefront of social justice counseling approaches, is the need to empower the oppressed or marginalized individual by confronting injustices and inequalities that affect the individual at the systemic level (Pedersen, Lonner, Draguns, Trimble, & Rio, 2015).
When one or more persons contract with a woman to gestate a child than relinquish that child after birth to the person or couple is known as surrogacy. It is a course of action that goes outside of natural reproduction. For some, it is the only method of having children, extending family. Surrogacy has been stirring up many controversies over the years. Ethics, morals, laws, religious views, etc. have played a major role in the issues that follow the topic of surrogacy. Laws and regulations pertaining to surrogacy vary from state to state. Some states have no enforceable laws
As a political science student, I see the effects of policies and bylaws on everyday life. The courses of action, set out by governments and corporations, have huge implications on the ways that people’s work, and function. Bylaws, which establish how a corporation will function, act as the rulebook to which anyone can go for answers, and ultimately are responsible for holding a corporation to its mandate.
William O. Douglas said, “Common sense often makes good law.” Well that is what laws essentially are, rules and regulations that make sure common sense is followed. One could even say that laws are enforced ethics. Laws serve several roles and functions in business and society, and this paper will discuss those roles and functions.
However, without the backing and adherence from senior level management policy creation becomes a box checking event to pass audits. In addition, receiving buy-in from users, to include senior management, must understand the consequences associated with the failures to abide by the company’s policy, and levying the consequence to all employees equally and justly. Lastly, users must understand why policies and procedures are in place. Without understanding, user’s behavior will ultimately put the company in a defensive position.
