Malbec is a full bodied grape variety. The grapes tend to have an inky dark colour and high in tannins, and are known as one of the six grapes allowed in the blend of red Bordeaux wines. The French plantations of Malbec are now found primarily in Cahors in Southern France. Malbec is now more famous for being the top grape of Argentina although as with many of the worlds grape varieties it originated in France.

Grenache also known as Garnacha is one of the most widely planted red wine grape varieties in the world.
