I could tell that this car crashing is really strong because they crashed so hard that those cars fell off. Imagining that those cars would fell off and hit the bottom cars gives me nightmares. If I were in the bottom lane, I would be terrified. Technology are good but it could create a horrified accident like in the picture. There are many clounds in the sky, it looks more like smoke. The picture is black and white so it gives out a depression feeling. It is dangerous for the bottom lane car. If I were in the bottom lane, I would be terrified. It is scary how danger could be right next to
We finally made it to the car accident. The roads were blocked off with wooden caution signs and bright red flares that lit up the darkness around the scene. I saw Mike’s car, a 2016 Ford Focus. The car was cut into two pieces by a massive tree. By the looks of it, he lost control and spun out.
On 9-7-2016 at about 0950 hrs I was dispatched to the Seasons on Lea Hill for a vandalism report. Enroute dispatch advised that the victim, Shawntea Mason, had contacted 911 to report that she had discovered damaged to her vehicle.
I then remember about the other car. I look over to my left and my eyes widen. It was a light blue van, an older model. The whole front side from the bumper to the windshield wipers were crumbled like a piece of paper. There were two people in the front seat, one looked fine but the others head was resting against the wheel. My heart starts racing, wondering if anyone was hurt and if so how bad. I look back to my right to see Logan jumping out of the car see if everyone is alright. I tried to open the door but notice that the other car is keeping my door from opening. I look out at Logan and see him talking to the family, the car had two little kids, one boy and one girl, and also a toddler. I jump across to the other door and jump
On a typical late-summer night 20 years ago, thousands of Toronto residents began their evening commute in the dark underbelly of the city.
The council has a yearly Road Safety Engineering programme to address traffic collisions on the network. Sites are reviewed using collision data held by the Council, which is provided by the Police and Transport for London, where a collision has resulted in a personal injury being sustained. A review of this data for the current three year period shows that there have been collisions on Hedge Lane between Green Lanes and firs Lane with the predominant pattern being caused by vehicles turning out of side roads. A Road Safety Scheme was implemented in 2013/14 at the Hedge Lane / firs Lane junction which has reduced collisions at this junction by 43% in the last three years. We will continue to monitor the collision rate on Hedge Lane and if a
Simms makes an important move, “1.2 million people across the world are killed in road crashes each year and 50 million injured” (qtd. in Simms 542). This fact shows that Simms acknowledges that car crashes result in many deaths a year; however SUV’s by almost any measurements, are more dangerous than cars. Next Simms provides more supporting facts. “People driving or riding in a sport utility vehicle in 2003 were nearly 11 percent more likely to die in an accident than people in cars” (qtd. in Simms 542). Simms also states that due to the size of an SUV, they suffer from greater rear view blind spots. Which he stated may account for the number of parents who killed their children by running over them. These strong facts speak for themselves; and bring an emotional appeal to the reader. A child dying in any circumstance promotes sadness.
Results - The results supported that of the first experiment. The participants in the smashed condition overestimated the speed of the cars. The participants who reported seeing broken glass: Condition|% who answered yes. Smashed|32%, Hit|14%, Control|12%.
I knew this comic was going to be a mess after reading the summary for this, but this is ridiculous and we got to talk about everything in this, because train wrecks like this don’t happen often. This issues fails in some of the most basic ways possible that if I didn’t know better, I would swear this is a parody. Now I usually do analysis posts where I talk about overall problems, but this is something that needs to be experienced so we are going to talk about this scene by scene to we can enjoy this massive 5 car pileup. But before we can do that we need to talk about the first car to start this mess for a second, 283.
Dirt flies up from the ground like kids jumping on a trampoline. The red, white, and blue #19 Tobias Slingshot flies past the red #026. In anger of losing his position. #026 closes the distance between the two cars. Mere inches separate the two vehicles. They touch. Even though the touch is as light as a feather, it sends #19 hurtling towards the wall. The sound of a gunshot is heard as the car ricochets of the wall at a 90 degree angle. The driver looks at the night sky. The sky is beautiful with the stars twinkling like diamonds. But, the beautiful sight ends as the car crashes into the ground. The drivers hands shoot forward. "Snap!" As the red flag comes out, sirens are heard in the distance...
Auto Wreck by Karl Shapiro is an impressionistic poem that delves into the understanding of technology and the horrific contentment that society has with automobile wrecks. Written during the 1940’s Shapiro has been known for writing about simplistic things yet with grave detail. In Auto Wreck Shapiro uses similes and metaphors to describe a surreal feeling of an automobile wreck. He has determined that everyday citizens have become too detached from the everyday violence caused by automobiles. Shapiro aims to prove that the mechanical monsters that threaten everyday life have become too mundane in today's society.
Staring at the crash right in front of me, all I can do is feel horrible. That intersection was there for a long time without anyone crashing their cars since the day it was made and some drunk guy had to ruin it! The whole day makes me feel like Hawaii is a bad place for something like me, and since it is 2009, I don't believe what I see. I wish I could be normal just like everyone else, I think to myself. I wish I could walk, talk, swim, and move around or just be useful. Still staring at the crash, which is now a fire, makes me feel like I'm useless.
Background and Audience Relevance: According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2015, about thirty-five hundred people were killed, and four hundred thousand were injured in car crashes.
It must be noted that cars are dangerous vehicles which can cause fatal damage. Individuals responsible for a vehicle are expected to be more alert than pedestrians walking down the street or crossing the road, this is known as “destructive disparity”. This
People recorded this meteor strike which made it so unusual. In Russia, an estimated one million motorists have dash cams in their cars. The dash cameras are popular for one big reason: ensuring justice when they have an accident while driving. Last year, the newspaper Al Jazeera spoke with motorists who drove with cameras. One driver said “that police officers are only on the roads to take bribes, bending traffic laws—or ignoring them completely to benefit themselves.”. According to them, a camera will save you from false accusations. The motorists went on to say, “In Russia, everyone should have a camera on their dashboard. It’s better than keeping a lead pipe under your seat for protection”.
Sent sailing in the air and over the ditch. The wheels are out of control. I effortlessly hit five mailboxes, a sign, while being tossed back and forth through several trees like a ball in a pinball machine. Branches whacking me in the face through my broken windows, until finally I came to this life alternating moment, was this it? Then, right before my car hit headfirst into its last tree and finally it came to a stop. I took a deep breathe. Then, I looked around and realized that I was alive. I opened my door and took a staggered few steps outside the car. I yelled for help because I couldn’t seem to find all the pieces of my phone. Everything is my car was tossed around and broken. My car looked like it had been hammered all around. There was no way I could drive it now and the windows busted out on each side. I stood there and asked myself, how am I in such good condition when my car is completely totaled. It’s the realization that I could have died today and I did not. Many people get killed in car accidents, after my accident, I learned how significant it was to pay more consideration to the vehicle I had on the road and its maintenance. Now I am more conscious of my car’s necessities. Here are some things I pay more attention to now that I have had this accident. The mistakes we tend to make as young adult drivers. These are some things to take into account from my mistakes during my accident and to use them to make
