The gnome helps them get to skull island and tells them how to make it past the river of dreams. After that the gnome then leaves them as soon as they are pasted the river of dreams they meat a bulldog named Bart he helps them get to the skull island and they get inside skull island and grab the stone key to get home. Greg is failing math; therefore, his father forbids him to play basketball unless his math grade improves. In the tenement, he meets a raggedy, old man, Lemon Brown, who talks about treasure.
Living in a falling apart house, the family rarely has electricity and they have no running water or heat. Struck by a hard reality, the older children realize the only way to achieve a stable life is to move away from their parents. They begin saving as much money as they can until eventually the oldest child, Lori, moves to New York City. She finds a job and the children try to save more money so they can all eventually move to the city. Ultimately, all of the kids are together again in New York City and life is good.
(d) Challenges and trials en route: When Carl was lifting up into the air, a little kid named Russell somehow got on it. Carl was a grumpy old man so he didn’t let Russell come in at first. But after a few minutes he let him in. Another challenge that Carl had to go through was having to take care of Russell as well, especially after Russell found a rare bird. Also, when Carl and Russell met Charles Muntz, it was not what they expected. Muntz turned out to be evil.

When they get there he is shocked to see that they were going on a plane ride they knew how to ride planes but Robert was afraid of high places and plane crashes.
