The peaceful scenery of the ocean relaxed every muscle in my body. My constant thoughts seemed to disappear along with all the stress I carried. The tired expressions my family once wore were no longer present. Every bad thing that exists in this world vanished as the cool breeze from the sea engulfed me. Trees swayed in the wind and the sun hovered high in the sky. The sun shined bright in the sky and reflected itself off the blue sea. Sparkles from the suns reflection on the ocean blinded those who dared to look out onto the beautiful sea.
My bare feet sunk deep into the warm sand that welcomed each step I took. Sand buried itself deep between my toes as I made my way towards the sparkling sea. The ocean roared as waves crashed onto nearby
To begin with, if I was currently an advocate for the environment and animals I would first focus on the Orcas, or killer whales, at theme parks, specifically Sea World. First of all, Sea World is inhumane. Five of the Orcas currently at sea world were “whale-napped” from the oceans they called home. For example, Tilikum, one of the most know whales in the Sea World franchise, is now thirty-two years old. He was captured at the age of two by, which means he has been in captivity for thirty years. And, before anyone says Tilikum was injured so they “rescued” him I want to say that it is fact that Tilikum was not injured. He was taken from his family and confined to a tiny tank just so people could make a hefty profit. Also, if the Orcas are
It is stunning how without the use of a visual aid, the music shapes such vivid and live imagery, images of his childhood and cars enhance a lot of Frank Ocean's storytelling as he doesn't use cars in the typical Pop/Hip hop way. Instead his cars express a sense of vulnerability and loneliness. He also uses them as method to tell his own stories. Frank Ocean wouldn't be considered a typical superhero, but to me he is one. People think of Frank as this really mysterious and hidden from the world person because of his almost non existent social media presence, besides the fact that he has a Tumblr account, but the reason I feel a closer emotional understanding of his work than most other artists is because of his own personal depth. Frank disappeared
Gentile waves roll in as sea gulls call out together creating a rhythm of steady breathing. During the introduction of his song entitled Blue Ocean Floor, Justin Timberlake painted this serene seashore scene. Leading listeners to a new place, the instrumentals made a background breathing sound that continued throughout the song, resulting in an overall feeling of anticipation. As the subject of anticipation, Justin Timberlake sung of a couple whose love seemed hopeless on the outside due to their surroundings but found a way to love each other forever. Justin Timberlake wrote this song in the second person, and brought a new level of meaning to it by singing solo with only loops to support him. It seemed
Like how seasons are the changes on land, they can also be apply to oceans in temperate latitudes. The most productive seas on the planet are the seasonal seas because they border the temperate parts of the world where conditions change throughout the year. The power of the sun is constantly changing; hence there are different seasons even under the seas due to the different in sunlight radiation. In the far north, summers are warm and gentle, while winters are wracked by savage storms. Sable Island, southeast of Nova Scotia in the Atlantic Ocean is home to the world’s largest colony of gray seal, about 100,000 seals come to breed here each year. The climate at this location is heavily influenced by the sea and being located in the path of major frontal storms and cyclones, precipitation is high. Around March, the seas have warmed enough to trigger phytoplankton to appear. Phytoplankton is tiny algae, each smaller than a pinhead. During this time of the year, phytoplankton reproduces with an amazing speed and produces more annual growth than all the parts on land together. They
I looked back at the ocean one last time before the sun left. It seemed to give off heat waves. I then turned around and started on the short sand trail back to my car with Jeff. As we approached the wooden picket fence, sand found its way into my sandals and between my toes. It felt like dirt.
It took my breath away. We were on a cliff edge made of sharp, black lava rock. The hotel lobby looked out onto the ocean. I cherished this moment. The waves were calming and water looked as if it was dancing beneath the sunlight. It was a rich, blue in some spots and in others a bright, aquamarine, light green. Streaks of purple and turquoise speckled on the surface on the water. I hadn’t seen anything like it before. The shimmering, creamy, white sand gleamed in the sun’s heat. As the blue waves crashed against the black lava rock, the water sprang into the air shooting a light mist in the sky. The Grand Bliss truly is a beautiful destination. Waiting for our hotel room to be ready my family and I walked down to the beach to a little seating place called Mandy’s. I loved the feeling of the warm sand squishing under my feet it made my calf muscles clench to keep myself balanced. I stopped walking just before the tide touched my toes. I craved the water touching my skin so, at that exact moment so I tore off my tank top that I was wearing on top of my bathing suit and just stood there taking it all in, the sun on my bare tanned shoulders, the warm, comfortable sand beneath my feet, and the insane need to jump into the salty
Failure is in utter abundance throughout humanity. Failure justifies a cause of change, to alter defeat we received for our own betterment. As being a human being, I have experienced failure by the sheer lack of understanding the methodology of the blue abyss: the ocean. I was a wee lad, under the age of eight when I fought the endless beast. It was a vacation, occasions typically used to celebrate the prosperity and successes of a family. Our vacation was to a beach teeming with an abundance of life. Swallows of people suffocated the sand, while the ocean offered it's vast entity to the people. I looked into the ocean, boy to man, and wanted to conqueror the waves. I seized my surfboard, a device constructed to ride the vicious waves of a
What does it mean to be an oceanographer? An oceanographer is a scientist who studies the oceans of the earth using the scientific disciplines of biology, chemistry, and geology. Oceanographers are experts in the field of ocenography, the studies of the earths oceans. Now you might think this is a boring field of study , however you would be wrong . They study the relationship between climate change and population health to determine. Researching whether or not the climates change affects air borne diseases and such. Another thing they do is research the biological elements of the ocean such as marine plankton. Even thought there are very tiny the are a large part of a majority of marine ecosystems. With a decrease
Has it ever occurred to you that there is another world among us? Beneath the deep blue sea is a vast landscape with plants and animals abundant. These animals are constantly forced to adapt to survive, showing just how strong and resilient they are. Three of these, however, stand out from the rest with features that allow them to survive in the harshest conditions.
The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest of the world's oceanic divisions, following the Pacific Ocean. With a total area of about 106,400,000 square kilometres (41,100,000 sq mi),[1] it covers approximately 20 percent of the Earth's surface and about 29 percent of its water surface area. The first part of its name refers to Atlas of Greek mythology, making the Atlantic the "Sea of Atlas".
There it was, fresh water, glimmering in the early morning sunlight, reflecting the emerald ferns blooming above my head. As I cupped the water in my hands the fresh sea air wafted through the island. I guzzled down the cold water as my body relaxed and I felt hope for the first time since the crash.
W.Chan Kim and Renee Maugborgne article “Blue Ocean Strategy” and Blue Ocean Strategy: From Theory to Practice challenges firms to distance themselves from the fierce competition in the marketplace by utilizing Blue Ocean Strategy versus the dominantly used Red Ocean Strategy. Both Blue and Red Oceans are distinctly different strategies, both logics are important to understand, and they both coexist. By understanding by the underlying logic of both strategies companies will be able to make decisions on what strategy they will prefer to implement. The authors use the colors Red Ocean (color of bloody water) and Blue Ocean (color of clear water) to visually represent the amount of competition in the market (water represents the market).
The glittering stretch of sea shines before my eyes. With every new wave, the light whispers promises of riches and sparkling diamonds. The gentle breeze that kisses the sea sends the twinkling light
I stretched my arms out and looked up and down the beach. Although I lived in Waikiki for years, it'd been far too long since I took a vacation, let alone the beach, since I'm dealing with neverending piles of school assignments and activities. As I strolled along the coastline I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I was taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircled me. I closed my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. The beach was oddly quiet for this time of that year, only a handful of people sunbathing. I didn't mind, I was going to enjoy myself.
The warm breeze of the ocean air flies past my face. The heat of the yellow sun was sizzling, beating down against my skin, tanning and burning it within seconds. Beach goers were crowded around in all directions. Seagulls gliding past the groups of people, scouting for dropped or forgotten food to eat. Their little footprints marking a trail in the sand all over the place, going in a million different directions, searching for their next meal. I take in the exquisiteness of it all, the blue-green waves crashing into the sandy shore, making white foam and bubbles wash into the sea, little boys and girls that are digging in the bright white sand running away from the small waves before they get wet. The beach is a stunning place to be; there's just something about the ocean waves and the sand between my toes that makes me just want to stay there forever.
