The idea to paint an uncommissioned mural, the Wall of Respect, that honored heroic black figures was conceived by the Organization for Black American Culture’s (OBAC) founding member: William Walker. OBAC (pronounced: obasi) was a collective of artists who practiced different mediums and sought to provide artistic support for equality for African Americans.
Visual agnosia can drastically affect one’s ability to learn. For example, a child with visual agnosia may find it difficult to recognize letters and numbers, thereby making it difficult to learn to read and perform other tasks imperative for retaining information learned. To compensate for the
A few months back, I had the opportunity to interview a sweet young girl and her brother (Kayla and Tyler Huth), and through them, I heard about a regional show called Ray's Rookies. Kayla introduced me to her co-host, Zachary S.Williams, and about that time, he booked a national show which coincided with my intent to interview him. Thankfully, he was able to carve out some time in his hectic schedule to tell us more about his career and his role in the new show Greenleaf.
The book I was given to read about was the book “Ghost Map” by Steven Johnson. The central question for this book was “What key idea does the author of the book want to convey to you?”. I believe that Steven wanted to send the message that Cholera (the disease) was not an airborne disease but a disease that came from the digestion of water. Through this essay I will prove why I believe that this was the message that Steven was trying to portray when writing this book.
Last year I helped paint an Abilene themed mural that now hangs in the Recreation Center. I along with about 10 other students painted things that we thought represented Abilene like Dwight Eisenhower, farms, cowboys, horses, cows, crops, the railroad, and trains. My job in the project was mainly to touch up, but I also painted the clouds and the birds. Painting this mural helped me gain respect to the state and the town that I live in, and it helped me personally improve myself as an artist and as a student. It helped me build skills that I will use the rest of my life like, teamwork, problem solving, creative and critical thinking, and goal setting. The mural commemorated the state of Kansas, by hanging it in the Recreation Center everyone
The image above was created by the Olmec tribe between 1200 and 400 BEC in Southern Mexico. These artifacts are usually made with clay and painted in monotone colors and used for the center of ceremonies. The amount of work put into making these objects shows how much that the Olmec people are very attached to their creations and spend lots of time working on them.
In 1854 the city London was the most populated in the world. In just ninety square miles there was over two million currently living there. During this time period having so many people in such a tight place was unknown. With the constant population growth it caused a number of problems. The main problem that was faced was the mass amount of waste and where to put it. Families used water closets, but even with the water closets their waste was emptied into cesspools. It wasn’t uncommon for these cesspools to over fill often, even with night- soil men continuously emptying them. The streets of London were fifthly. With the constant mass amounts of waste the London government came to a decision to dump of the
Canadian multiculturalism is fundamental to our belief that all citizens are equal. As stated by Ms. Turk, “If a person in a rational state of mind decides to act crazy, to abuse the people around him regardless of whether he loves those people or hates them, and to give free expression to all his antisocial thoughts, when he starts to carry out those actions, its it possible to say at what point the stops pretending and starts actually being crazy?”. In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, the way others interpret Hamlet’s behavior is different from the way Hamlet views himself.

I chose to analyze the case study, Tug Of War that was written by Yossi Sheffi and is found in the Harvard Business Review.
I would like to display a professional image that represents myself and the nursing profession positively. Most people that enter nursing want to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle and improve the quality of life for everyone. Each day nurses are judged by their attitude, appearance, and behaviors inside and outside of work. Being competent in my profession and continuing my education not only increases my chances of success but it also shows my commitment to continuously improving myself and wanting to provide the best care possible. It is important for me to display a positive, caring, and grateful attitude towards others. When people are admitted to the hospital their sick, in pain, and scared. Displaying acts of kindness and
However as the authors stressed, probably more significant than the change in how images are produced, distributed and used, are the ideas to which the changes are giving rise and how digital imaging is challenging and changing traditional ways of seeing and thinking. It seems that our traditional belief that ‘the camera never lies’ has been brought into question. It also appears important to consider who

Marijuana comes from Cannabis Sativa, an annual herbaceous plant in the Cannabis genus family. The pharmacologically active ingredient in marijuana is tetra-hydro-cannabinol, a chemical compound used to heighten perception, decrease anxiety, slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, and can ease the pain of multiple sclerosis (Butterfield, 2017). It is estimated that about 30% of adults in the U.S. use marijuana because they assume it is harmless (that’s debatable). Signs of marijuana use include bloodshot eyes, lethargy, uncoordinated body movements, confusion, lack of focus, and increased cravings for snacks. The continued use of smoking marijuana increases their chance of developing cancer in places such as the mouth, tongue, larynx or pharynx. Legalizing marijuana is an extensive legal battle for several reasons. First, legalizing marijuana would make it available to individuals that genuinely need it. The objections of the federal government resisting legalization have nothing to do with how much harm it may or may not cause. Instead, their objections are based on pharmaceutical companies resisting legalization because their profits would decrease from the legal use of marijuana (Armand, 2016). Since marijuana is classified as a schedule one drug, scientist/doctors believe that the use of the drug has no medical purposes. However, former Surgeon General of the United States Jocelyn Elders states, that there is evidence the suggest marijuana can relieve specific
